There are now at least eight others raising money for Trump. Most of them have collected ten or twenty dollars so far.
Does Go Fund Me have any rules regarding who can solicit money for what purpose? This doesn't pass the smell test.
@thepoliticalcat@bkm I am not certain, but since this was a civil judgement, not a criminal case, is this somehow different? He broke the law, but he's not considered a criminal?
Traffic tickets are defined as criminal, but fraud to the tune of hundreds of millions is not? Crazy, no?
Or is just that Go Fund Me no longer has standards? If so, maybe I will start one for Trump and give all the money to Democrats of my choice. Just kidding, but how would they know?

Considering how long ago was that realignment, i'd lean heavily toward "purposeful lies". Anybody aware enough to know Lincoln was republican knows the parties flip flopped. It's...not hard to spot.
don't underestimate people's ignorance. there's still people who assert the Civil War was about state's rights and not slavery. people hear things and they repeat them. they don't investigate or question their assertions if the assertions support their biases

Yeah. True. I'm surrounded by monumental ignorance. Just the other day i overheard two guys talking about that show some nitwit put on for congress, sticking a spoon to herself and claiming the covid vaccine magnetizes you.
I still cut them no slack. Real information is available, still. I can find it. Nobody has the right to be ignorant in a way that harms others, and nobody has an excuse for not educating themselves to some bare minimum to understand the world.
You've reminded me of this 2019 NYT investigation, which showed that, in 1990 and 1991 at least, Trump was literally the single worst businessman in the country.
of all trump's issues, it's really the issue that leaves me most flabbergasted, on the terms of why anyone finds him appealing: his supposed richness and business savvy. but buy this crappy NFT. but help me fund my legal defense. held pay for this wall. etc
WHY do people, in the context of just this financial topic, not see how they are hoodwinked and conned?
@bkm These people are two months behind on their rent, but they're gathering all the money they can get their hands on to help a literal billionaire pay his legal obligations.
