:( Not only does the GymKit linked workout store higher fidelity data in Apple Health but the calorie burn estimate from Apple is far better than Peloton's. For me Peloton way overestimates calorie burn. The Peloton watch app has had stability problems recently too.

Can anyone #recommend a good blood pressure monitor that works neatly with #AppleHealth? Ideally no pointless extra accounts or data harvesting. #AskFedi

I wish there was a privacy focused (preferably open source) ecosystem of health and fitness apps coupled with style gadgets like scales, fitness bands etc.
I know there are apps out there that respect your privacy and don't upload tons of data, but I don't think they really work together in the way or do.

One "down side" to the fitness and body composition improvements over the past four months of having stuff dialed in is that I can no longer hit my Apple Health/Fitness move goal by doing my easy day workouts. That'll encourage me to start focusing on moving more throughout the day which I should be doing anyway.

@_Davidsmith has something changed with the Pedometer++ algorithm? I had got a 90-day streak (and the badge) up to a couple of weeks ago, now that’s disappeared and there are some breaks in it. Not that it matters too much!

Also I did a fair bit of walking yesterday and notice that Pedometer++ shows 12703 but Apple Health 7565 which seems quite a big difference!

I'd heard stories about the app dying on external runs. My first run over one hour and it did just that. As much as I liked having all my workout data in that one place and the way they strike a balance in gamification of their goal challenges etc, I think I'm going to have to abandon using it for run/walk tracking. It was wonky in other ways too: heart rate connecting to Apple Watch quirks, distance quirks, UI not great. There is an app called RunGap that will allow me to extract the data from Apple Health if I go back to using Apple Fitness/Health for tracking. It seems to work pretty well and only costs $10 a year. Hopefully that fixes it. I have thoughts on replacing/augmenting the gamification but I need to ruminate on them more.

It really should be simpler to add a vitals reading into Apple Health. That button is way too buried.

i would like to introduce a technical executive with an engineering background and diabetes to someone in the team at , because a “no updates" control failed and her blood glucose instrument silently stopped working overnight because of it.

this could be an incident that could be impacting a lot of people that don't know about it and she's recovering to a working state again but i don't think this should have happened. the FDA certified the device for lil’ halp?

Am I understanding it right that didn't exist on before? Again, WHY IS THIS ON !

Any recommendations for a smart scale that auto-updates HealthKit data? Preferably want a scale that doesn’t hoover up my data in an invasive way. Ideally, I’d like to use a third party, privacy preserving app with the scales, if possible.

Withings looks good, but the app is a privacy no-no judging by it’s App Store label. If I use Withings with a third party app, is that better (assuming that app preserves privacy)?
