The Pegasus Arrives. One of my favorite moments made all the more powerful by Bear McCreary's amazing music. Wish the hope had lasted a little bit longer, but this scene will always be pure awesome. https://youtu.be/5Teb-nW7efk?si=5vJxMrOJCQJmGicX

Though I'm a huge Star Wars fan, I would choose Kaylee from Firefly.

This last week I have been rewatching for the first time in about a decade or so.

Aside from some slightly ropey CGI in some scenes (mostly Cylon movement), it's just as enjoyable as it was the first time round some 20yrs ago.

Fuck... 20yrs ago... I feel so old.

Currently halfway through season 2.

Current BSG rewatch arrived at the point we were waiting for last night – season 3, episodes 19-20, “Crossroads” parts 1 and 2.

So so good.

I finished my rewatch of the BSG miniseries this morning prep for today's @GreatestTrek pod. I remembered that I loved the ending but seeing it again, just, wow, what a great ending. Zero chance it would not make it into series production from how well they pulled off that miniseries. So Say We All.

It's time for a little personal tribute, because I watched BATTLESTAR GALACTICA again after almost 15 years and came to the conclusion that this show is still by far the best science fiction series I have ever seen. Nothing even comes close to the show for me and I will definitely watch it again in 10 years - I'll be 70 then - and still think it's great. If you haven't seen the series yet, you should definitely do so.

Listening to this @ouropinions episode by @charliejane and @annaleen on the BSG reboot and I, too, will now rewatch the entire show and not go to the bathroom for a week.

I watched an episode of the original Battlestar Galactica (1978).

It's rough BUT the old cylons are about one trillion times cooler than the terrible cgi ones from the reboot. They filmed them with this diffraction effect that is heaven and the voices are chef's kiss 😘

Trying to find more #StarTrek folks to follow. If you see the mention of that hashtag and this post let's meet. I promise I always try to be nice. All Trek is Trek.

Of all the things to come out of the reboot why the hell hasn’t caught on? That actually looks like a fun game! Hell, there’s from a game that’s supposed to be played on flying broomsticks in the air and yet Pyramid Games/ Pyramid Ball never caught on.

What a travesty.

Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome

If you are fans of the original Battlestar Galactica (I am not) or are passionate about the 2004 rebooted Battlestar Galactica (I absolutely am!), then you will love the Blood & Chrome prequel movie!

It shows a cocky & young William Adama before he became famous throughout the fleet. What I loved about this movie was how realistic it was when it came to portraying the horrors & lies of war that soldiers see contrasted with the glories & glamour of what the public sees.

There are numerous excellent scenes, including these two (light spoilers ahead):

As well as this scene which shows just how frightening the Cylons are in close quarters.

The movie is on Amazon Prime Video (for purchase as it’s not free for Prime users), but it’s worth the few dollars to rent.
