Our house martins are back, and this is the first morning we've heard their distinctive calls. Soon we'll be enjoying our first coffee on the terrace, watching them. Our flat is on the same level as their nests, which are currently occupied by sparrows. In previous years, they had been able to reclaim them. Here we go for the next few months, living to the rhythm of our house martins! #Bliss
Rainy morning. In the distance I hear and see skylarks singing. Right in front of me lands a common kestrel with prey. Great opportunity to observe it eating a mouse (?).
It was a bit of a grey dark day (what a difference with sunny yesterday). I went to nearby Sakura park. The trees are not blooming yet, except a couple of early starters. In one of the trees I spotted a long-tailed tit. It seemed it was collecting moss…? Perhaps for its nest?
Few people out on a rainy Saturday morning. The cockies were out though, foraging on the grass under one of the hoop pines. Not looking as carefree and raucous in the wet. #park#walk#BirdsOfFediverse
