The climate crisis, city biodiversity, ‘plant a tree’, ‘if the bees die, we die’ – all the consciousness-raising nudged me into a nervous attempt at a balcony garden. After a lifetime of believing I was incapable of keeping a houseplant alive, I was unprepared for the joy of waking up to discover that a plant has bloomed its first-ever flower while I was asleep. I am not even the tiniest bit embarrassed about how happy this has made me.
Guten Morgen! Was war gestern schön was hat euch gefreut?
#Biodiversity#Bloomscrolling#parasiticplant#mountains
One of my heirloom scarlett #sunflower#plants are beginning to push out their #flower petals 🥰🌻 This plant stands at about 6' tall right now.
It's my first year growing a few different heirloom sunflower varieties.
Eight years ago we were in Europe and our travel plans got upended. As a result we had an unplanned stay in Amsterdam and got to visit the Keukenhof Gardens on the last day they were open for that year. We knew nothing about them but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.
As a freeloader watching all the #BloomScrolling posts, I thought I should do my bit by posting some of the tulip photos I took during that visit.
