First overnight of the year, a 2 day trip with Moray, from the remote Corrour Station on the West Highland line. We camped in Glen Labhair, below Ben Alder.
First time we've been to the prehistoric ring cairn at Delfour, with Moray this morning. There's a central pile of stones, then two concentric rings of rocks. There's also one tall standing stone remaining from the stone circle that used to surround it. #Cairngorms National Park, #Scotland
Another of our favourite local walks with Moray today. Through Craigellachie (the National Nature Reserve), up to Craigellachie (the hill), then down to the Burma Road and back via the old old A9 Perth to Inverness road.
First hill walk of the year, Geal-charn Mòr 824m, our local Corbett*.
Everyone else's pics from above the inversion have sunshine and blue skies. We climbed above the freezing fog of the inversion to find ... damp fog. But it's always a decent walk, even without the spectacular views of the bigger Cairngorms hills.
*Corbetts - the Scottish hills between 2500 and 3000ft, in old money.
Snowy golf course walk today. Wish I'd taken the proper camera.
Never really noticed the distant hills in pic 4 before. Covered in snow they look worth a visit. Had to use www.udeuschle.de to find out where they were, they're the #Cromdale Hills, so think we'll be heading there at some point now.
Do you know PACK? The People and Animal Cardio Klub (PACK) is a group of volunteers who share a common passion for running or walking with adoptable dogs. Not only does this activity provide the dogs with much-needed exercise and socialization, but it also offers dogs an opportunity to enjoy the outdoor and to get more attention while waiting for our new forever homes. Every Saturday morning from 8 am to 10 am, we gather at either Rock Creek Park or the Arboretum. You can easily spot us in our eye-catching "Adopt Me" vests. Warning: Falling head over heel in love is highly likely! #adoptdontshop#fosteringsaveslives#hikingwithdogs#dogsofmastodon#shelterdogsarethebestdogs#rescuedismyfavoritebreed#dmv#virginia#maryland
