"The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and then walk out the door and deny him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable." -- Brennan Manning
In Avengers: Infinity War Star-Lord, Peter Quill, is asked "What master do you serve?"
He replies: "What am I supposed to say? Jesus?"
My answer should honestly always be "Jesus" as He is indeed my Lord and Saviour.
Then again I would never hold a gun to Spider-Man's head! #Jesus#StarLord#SpiderMan#Lord#Master
IMO, it's the distillation of their perverted view of Christianity and Jesus. So much so that the bimper sticker I saw was probably from the brand of the same name.
1/ #Jesus is super confusing (at least to poor dimwits like me 😂):
"Anyone who prefers father or mother to me is not worthy of me. Anyone who prefers son or daughter to me is not worthy of me. Anyone who does not take his cross and follow in my footsteps is not worthy of me. Anyone who finds his life will lose it; anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it." (Matthew 10:37-39)
[aka, follow me by abandoning everything you love and living a life of suffering]
Easter means a lot to me. I know it's not everyone's holiday, but if you feel like I do about Easter and you have ever wondered if the story of Easter is for you-- don't let anyone tell you it's not.
I can't possibly apologize for all of the harm done in the name of a beautiful story. But, I think it's because of how fundamentally subversive "love thy neighbor" really is, if you take it seriously. So, the message is often poisoned at the source.
"The Cybertruck encapsulates a dystopian future where the US is sliding into lawlessness" de zeen.
Fair critique of the vehicle. Article mentions competitor F-150 Lightning, the EV truck driven by protagonist in The Deliverer, my Christian sci-fi dystopian novel. Points taken.
#FarRight#Arizona "#electionIntegrity" zealot, #AustinSmith, has based his entire identity on outrage over nonexistent #electionFraud. He wants a system where the electorate is comprised exclusively of white, #Christian, conservative men, just as #Jesus intended. So you might be surprised to learn that he's just been caught forging hundreds of signatures on his petition to run for state office.
❤️🔥🕊️❤️🔥**[JESUS]*When he comes!*he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin!righteousness!& judgment!*about sin!*because people do not believe in me!*about righteousness!*because I am going to the Father!where you can see me no longer!& about judgment!because the prince of this world now stands condemned!*❤️🔥🕊️❤️🔥
‟The 'fourth wave' of the U.S. overdose crisis involves the use of illicit fentanyl mixed with stimulants such as cocaine or methamphetamine, and it's killing people in droves.”
Zuckerberg only had one job with Threads, and he blew it - Fast Company
Bad review of Threads rollout. As article states, Threads needed to emulate Twitter UX to justify its overall marketing message—“the replacement you’ve been waiting for.” Matt. 6:33
I don't have any specifically Easter-themed music, but... #Jesus was apparently some kind of zombie; probably a lich (zombies that can do magic). So I suppose "The Inevitable Zombie Apocalypse" is a good themed tune for today. Have a listen and see if it doesn't put you in the #Easter spirit!
The chasm separating us from those who hurt us, esp ⚪️ evangelicals, is not of our creation so we can’t seal it. We won’t get to wholeness pining for them to come to their senses & cross over.
