Hmm, I have not used Liftoff myself. But I have looked into the github issues, their lemmy community, and their matrix chat to get an idea of what the status is. There is no evidence that anyone is actively working on implementing the 0.19.0 update at the moment, unfortunately. So I don’t know if/when lemmy 0.19.0 will be supported by it.
This is a pretty impressive demo of #Liftoff using the Quest 3's new AR capabilities. It basically allows you to fly a virtual drone in your own house.
@fediverse Let's face it. When talking about the Fediverse, it is very hard to sell interoperability between different types of instances as a major advantage.
There are almost as many clients for each of #Pixelfeed, #Mastedon, #PeerTube, and the rest of the #Fediverse, for a single platform.
Switch platforms, and discover a plethora of other clients.
I love the various and unique expressions of the #Fediverse. I started dabbling with #Lemmy months ago, and it stuck. In addition to #Mastodon, I'm increasingly finding myself on #LiftOff app through Lemmy.world.
An easy #Reddit replacement.
Well, I keep telling people to be the change they want to see in the world, and that's why I encourage everyone to join Mastodon, so in that spirit...
Can anyone help me get into #Lemmy? I feel like I should be putting content on there, so people leaving #Reddit have somewhere to go that's a #Fediverse alt, but I've never been able to get into Lemmy so...
@PunaisetPimpulat@Raccoon this is the way. And if you decide you want to be involved in a different instance, you can just sign up for another one or there are tools to migrate an existing account from one instance to another. I personally have a couple different accounts on different instances. You can switch through them seamlessly via the #liftoff app.
@ruud@icarurs yeah I think lemmy.world has been pretty snappy compared to days ago. Still occasionally get some failures browsing through the #liftoff app
@ruud@icarurs well I would occasionally get timeout errors for comments loading when clicking on threads in #liftoff. I can say as it stands right now I can’t reproduce it after clicking 20 something threads. Thank you all for what you’re doing btw
#ESAEuclid has just left #SpaceLaunchComplex40 at Cape Canaveral and started its month-long journey to the Sun-Earth Lagrange Point 2 in about 1 million kilometer distance!
I just released a really important Apollo update that adds the ability for users with remaining subscription time left to decline an automatic refund. Devs pay refunds out of pocket, and this will be about $250K, so I thank you for your consideration. ❤️
Also, this update includes an amazing "Goodbye Apollo Wallpaper Set” for your phone, tablet, or desktop, created by outrageously talented Apollo icon designers. You can unlock the pack with a donation that helps with refund costs. 🙂
Quite a few Reddit app developers have committed to producing apps for Lemmy, and this seems to be one of the first ready for use. Mobile apps may well give Lemmy a better look-and-feel for many.
Mander has been upgraded to version 0.19.0! 🥳 🎉
