"Freie Universität Berlin has been present on Mastodon since December 2022. #Mastodon is part of the decentralized Fediverse network. Compared to large commercial social networks, Mastodon relies on chronological feeds and reduces the algorithmic sorting of posts. This ensures that information is always openly available and reduces the likelihood of so-called filter bubbles forming."
Breaking news is when I really miss Twitter. I have learned about the surprise announcement of the 4 July general election in the UK many times from many channels long before it appears in any form or shape in my Mastodon feeds. It's all right. Maybe Mastodon isn't meant to play that role. But if it is, there's still a long way to go. #news#breaking#mastodon
Discovered yesterday that Masto embeds do not work on our Drupal site -- as in they are not visible on the public facing page, although they appear fine in the back-end editor. Anybody here know what might be the issue? I embed other <iframe> stuff all the time and have never had this problem before. Any and all suggestions welcome. #FediHelp#drupal#mastodon
Beyond my wildest expectations, we blew past the 175€ goal with 1056,01€ for the #germany based food bank "Die Tafel" last Monday within 10 hours of #streaming !

It is annoying in #mastodon to still keep missing a lot of interesting posts by people in my list, which live in an almost specular time zone. although I have put them in dedicated lists, if I forget to check them regularly, their stuff is just lost to me.
So the only thing is to click on the 🔔 for each of such profiles. That however messes up with the notifications.
