Windows has long not been a sensible choice for advertising, museum or other displays... excellent example attached. Why can't they just leave machines alone or show something small and nonintrusive.

Funny that the in-built :firefox: screenshot tool DOES NOT respect the DRM video, but ' snip tool does.

I tried with the latter first, and just got a black screenshot, whereas Firefox is like "Want to screenshot DRM content? No problemo."

Good job, Firefox. 👍

Officially ditched VS Code for Brackets (https://brackets.io). I like it a ton better and it's not Microsoft. Win win.

Switched to LibreOffice (https://libreoffice.org) too. Uninstalled Windows Office since they want to charge monthly for Excel and Word (seriously).

I'm sick of corporations and their crap. More open source, less of everything else.

I don't understand how #MicrosoftWindows start menu is so buggy. Click start, type in expecting it to search, nothing happens. Click away, click start, type, nothing happens. Click away, Click start, type away and it works. It is so regular across so many computers I can't imagine it's just me having that infuriating experience.

Fresh hell..

"Bing Chat" bullshit delivered via Windows Update hung the Explorer load on a computer used for playout of music at a radio station. Just resulted in a black screen after the windows splash. THANKS!

Modern computing is such a terrible experience.
Windows is increasingly morphing into an advert delivery platform.

You have a digital license that should continue to work. But if you were hoping to use this loophole in the future, it’s time to buy a legit Windows 11 key instead.”

28 years ago, on August 24, 1995, the digital realm took a neon-lit turn as Microsoft unveiled Windows 95, the OG of operating systems.

It was a time when dial-up internet reigned supreme, computing was, well, a bit more...radical, the Start button, "Start Me Up" and the iconic Windows 95 start-up sound.

So here's to the OS that brought us the digital pastel dreamscape, Windows 95 – forever etched in tech history.

Does anyone here have a Steam Deck?

Do you like it? Is it something I can use to play my Steam games on the go, kind of like a Game Boy? (aka, for when I need to go to the hospital, other medical procedures)

I was thinking about a Switch, but I am loving the Steam games and think this might be a better investment for me

@PanickedFoodie Yes, you can play thousands of popular games on . It is bulkier than a but the same basic form factor, with slightly more complicated controls that do not detach. It does not have terrific battery life especially on the more graphically demanding titles, but it has one of the easiest interfaces for balancing PC game performance with playability compared to competitors’ attempts to shoehorn into a handheld.
