Customary on weekends, I take a little time to write a short story, about our adventures.
As a background, in case you are new, here's who we are: 2 seniors, my wife is disabled (I'm crippling up too), defying difficult trails to show that it can be done.
Hashtag shown is relative to places in #NovaScotia, that others might never have seen, but will want to visit.

During one of our exploring trips around the coast, we never finished the continuous trails on the south side of Antigonish. That's why we went back. You can't brag about places you've never been.
Good morning @evelynefoerster
We were looking at your Mountain Trails, so I found mine to show you.. We took a trip to Cape Breton Island, in my last OLD RV Camper, with two cats (then) and stayed at the Provincial Park https://parks.novascotia.ca/park/whycocomagh in #Whycocomagh area.
The towns, Cabot Trail and Beaches are all around, it was central for us explorers.
A little lead-in.. Avoid 100 series highways in #NovaScotia . They are for speed, not scenery or culture. Here's the only highway we had to cross
Everyone had major damage, myself included. We huddled in a safe location inside while the winds tore the front off my house and many shingles from the roof. I lost one big tree, a white pine.
My damage, while extensive, was superficial. You can live with siding off. When we had a phone service, I had to put in an insurance claim.

After difficulties traveling with cats, we opted to buy an old RV Camper a few years back. #RVLife
We don't have any wealth, so this wouldn't be new, we couldn't guarantee a loan for a new one anyway.
So we buy this 30 year old beast, well used, partially working, meaning, it drove, and many of the house features worked. But we didn't use them all. Just needed the Camper, and we decided to go on an adventure around #NovaScotia, visiting all those places people miss. #Travel
Oh my, it's wet and sticky snow.
Heavy to shovel in the morning.
The commute will be sloppy, get up early, clear all your windows, and allow extra time. You know there will be accidents! #DriveSafe#Snow#NovaScotia#NSStorm#Halifax#WAYCTV 🤣 glad I don't have to drive, but t have to shovel.
I should slow pace myself and do a little before bedtime. @capla Want some?
Have I got a deal for you? Take it all!
Come @tc_morekindness , it's time to sing our Sia song, and build a snowman or woman
I still have things torn up from the last windstorm. RLY? So soon? Aw, you shouldn't have 🤓 #NSStorm#Halifax#NovaScotia I'll start tying things down at dawn.
Nice going, Nova Scotia! We're practically single handedly (with a bit of help from Québec, credit where it's due ) bringing Canada into the severe range. ( > 8 is severe...)

Not a single new public housing unit being built by Tim Houston's government.
Almost all new housing builds are luxury. The few 'affordable' units (attached to larger complexes) are still 70% market average cost and it's dubious who can get these units (nepotism is what NS is built on)
A local cellphone number called me just now to worry me about someone using my Visa card and declined a 400 and 1000 purchase. GREAT, because I didn't make them, and Visa doesn't call from a local number, and they don't call me, because I tell them off. So, mark this number in your BLOCKED SPAM NUMBERS #NovaScotia 902-471-2518 #SPAM#robocalls#Phishing#Halifax
Lunenburg is a really interesting old town. It goes back to 1753 and they aggressively protect their old architecture (houses can only be painted from historical colours, etc.). Tourists swarm because it is so picturesque, so you might think it could be a tourist trap. But, no. Parking is a nightmare, but once you're there, the town has amazing charm & you can still see sail and dory makers. It's still a working seaport.
Springfield Estates Mobile Home Park was formally charged this year with operating a park without a license from the Halifax Regional Municipality — plus another charge of not providing potable water to residents. A court date has been set for June of 2024.
When we want to burn some gas... @Lstn2urmama , we take a drive somewhere we haven't been for awhile. Like #PeggysCove during a weekday.. When most people are at work.
It's nice, but it's not my first choice. #NovaScotia has much more scenery but we focus on the landmarks, and don't mention the rest. I'm the one who brags up the rest. #WAYCTV
In 2015, the big snow didn't begin until mid February. This was the state of our drive on March 15th of that year. And it carried on until April, until, in the end, we were walking in the tops of the trees, and on the low roofs of houses. All our bearings were lost if we ventured out.
Some people had to work out where to put all the snow.
A friend who lives not far away from here had visited many times, never having seen any blue rocks. He went with us and we happened to arrive at low tide. And there were the blue rocks at Blue Rocks. :)
