hmmmm.... I know things are tough in hospitality, but when trading standards find 70% of test drinks purchases are short measures, a new area of shrinkflation has surely been found.

Of course, we could argue this is a useful (organic) public health action which massages down the consumption of alcohol, but I'm guessing that's not what's actually going on.

Another change in French laws for supermarkets: up from July, shops are obliged to clearly affix signs to products with shrinkflation. The previous and new price in terms of a unit (e.g. kg, litre, etc.) must be indicated and the price increase calculated in euros or as a percentage.

Wow. I was printing a batch of these wire shelf hooks using my current favorite (cheap!) -CF from . I’d been going through the current spool faster than planned, and it ran out partway through.

Normally, I run all my new spools through the food dehydrator. This time I was in a hurry and just unwrapped the manufacturer’s packaging, dropped in the new spool, and walked away.

Dry your , folks. It can absolutely be this soggy even if it’s still factory-“fresh”

Hmmm. Next new spool, I’m gonna put it on the 0.1g resolution scale, to check pre- and post- dehydration weights.

If is sending 1kg of wet filament, what usable filament mass am I purchasing per spool?

This better not be the next innovation in

Recently realized the full life cycle of

First, you reduce the amount of stuff in the same packaging to keep the shelf price down...

wait a while...

Reduce the packaging while proclaiming positive environmental impact...

wait a while...

Repeat!

End result, more packaging for less stuff...

Support your local farmers and buy directly from them if you can!

Several countries are introducing regulations. Canada isn't yet among them

One, who lists servings like this? It's supposed to be how many daily you can have?

Two, was it always 0.07 under 2 fl oz?

I wanted to congratulate the @upfield brand on increasing the price of “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter” spread to the point it’s consistently MORE expensive than real butter.

“The J.H. Filbert company, based in Baltimore, Maryland, developed the product in 1979 as a low-cost alternative to butter for the food service industry.”

The “one pound” tub of water and palm oil is now only 15 ounces, while a pound of butter is still 16 ounces.

16 ounce pckages of Stater Bros. Markets salted butter on a supermarket shelf with a tag displaying $4.49. That’s 28.1 cents/oz
