Overview of our electricity used costs for May using Octopus Watch

Not bad at all. The last few days of May were pretty naff too.

Ihr seht ein verwirrendes Diagramm mit der heutigen PV-Erzeugung und der jeweiligen Abweichung vom optimalen Einstrahlwinkel der jeweiligen Module (0° wäre optimal). 🤯

Alles in purem PL/pgSQL.

Ich denke, darüber muss ich mal einen sehr komplizierten Blog-Post schreiben ...

Eine sehr komplex SQL-Query.

We've reached the point in the year where our @solar panels are earning more than we are paying for electricity.

In the last month we bought 183kWh for £46.
We sold 523kWh for £56.

And, of course, we didn't pay for electricity when the sun was shining.

Never let anyone tell you the UK has the wrong weather for !

too. Even on a cloudy January day our generate electricity.

I take back yesterday’s Toot. Smashed our solar generation record today. Generated 32.9 kWh. Both roofs set a new record.

😂 Finland has to throttle down their Nuclear power plants because the Nuclear energy price is much to expensive 🤷🏻‍♀️

Maybe a good lesson for the naive countries who are considering to build new Nuclear power plants

Nuclear energy is the most expensive energy for the taxpayers ever and also the most dangerous energy for human life ever 🤷🏻‍♀️

First 30 kWh day with the solar panels. Interestingly neither roof set a new record. So the best days for the individual roof still add up to more than the best total. So more to come.

Regarding our infrastructure, I will be soon moving it to the home country of Poland.

Thanks to @piotrsikora and his non-profit Technology for People Foundation, SVMetaSearch will (hopefully) get subsequently faster. We will start small (2 vCPUs and 2 GB of RAM plus 32 GB of space powered by SSD) and when necessary the founder of the foundation will be notified about scaling necessity (e.g. when SVMetaSearch starts to get tens of thousands of queries daily).

I also have brokered an agreement between myself and @piotrsikora that half of donations going towards SVMetaSearch will be also donated towards his foundation - making both of us financially sustainable.

Worth mentioning is the servers are being powered mainly by the solar energy, making us more eco-friendly!

We hope to see you on the SVMetaSearch side! Tell your friends, family and even your neighbours' dog(s) about the project!

Juwi Renewable Energies, a Germany-based developer of solar, wind and hybrid projects, is building a new renewable energy farm with a capacity of more than 1.5 GW of wind, 2 GW of solar and 500 MW of hybrid projects for the South African power grid. The project will begin supplying clean power to the South African grid in the first quarter of 2024.

Shading crops under solar panels -- known as "agrivoltaics" -- is win-win:
it can increase farm output while greatly reducing carbon emissions.

Corn, lettuce, potatoes, tomatoes, wheat and pasture grass have already been proven to have increased yields.
