For those who do not use tools to curate their home timeline, I understand that my post shows up in their timeline based on its datetime. If I post something and then #boost a bunch of additional posts, am I burying my “real” post?
instance admins should be aware of the following major issues with pixelfed. the web version have been neglected. timeline feed much slower and any mute of account will completely break individual timelines
Was mich an der wachsenden Zahl von #Apps für #Mastodon fasziniert, sind die Unterschiede bei der Darstellung der Timeline(s). Selbst ein und derselbe Account sieht da teilweise komplett anders aus und es kann sich sogar lohnen, mehrere Apps im Wechsel zu nutzen.
Besonders ist mir das durch die noch recht junge @rodentapp aufgefallen. Die finde ich total spannend, auch wenn ich noch nicht weiß, ob/wie hilfreich es wirklich ist.
Hat sich jemand die Nummer des Eselkarrens notiert, der mich überrollt hat?

Ich folge Euch (und lese Euch), weil mir journalistische Qualität wichtig ist. Aber wenn die #timeline mit solchen „Meldungen“ gefüllt wird, bleibt nur das Entfolgen und Nichtlesen. Wäre echt schade.
The problem is that it's effectively impossible to write fiction that is genuinely any less likely than the kind of crazy stuff actually going on these days. I mean, Trump has always been a disreputable character on the public scene. But Giuliani was at one time one of the most respected individuals on the planet. There are so many applicable platitudes, maxims, and biblical passages about falling from power that it's not worth the time to even start listing them.
@cstross has mentioned frequently that this crazypants timeline we find ourselves in has made it effectively impossible to continue his near-future Scottish police procedural series.
I think he once said he would pick it up again when the world returned to sanity, but ... at least he's still writing other stuff. 😂
As an experiment, I wanted to see if I could recreate the Nintendo Switch logo. I built the shapes in Adobe Illustrator and used Adobe Animate to create this simple looping animation.
@rodentapp Really cool idea with the #Summary. Wouldn't want it instead of the #timeline, but it's a a very interesting addition. The #News collection is great, that's something, I was missing on the alternatives.
I'd like a feature (for Tusky) that shows me the fraction of posts (account's posts / all posts in my personal timeline) of each account I follow, for a specified timeframe, say last 1/3/6 months.
And ideally, there'd then be a feature to show a thinned out personal timeline that contains only toots of the more silent accounts (starting with the most silent) so that there's in total only x number of toots per week (say 70 or so).
