If you are annoyed by people who boost too much (like me 😁 ), you need not mute them! Just go to their profile and choose behind the 3 dots "hide boosts from @ xy". This is also the easiest way to get only original posts by a followee.
When you think about #history do you imagine a timeline? What shape is it? how wide is it? Does it extend in a particular direction?
When I think of the previous decades I see a wide steep slope extending down to the right. The future is up to the left just behind me (unless I turn around and try to look at it) The past is an impossibly wide set of steep cellar stairs littered with knickknacks.
Celebrate with us a bit that 2023 was packed like that with important IT Anniversaries.
Events didn't line up as well for the last #Infographic that we've tooted like for this historic layout of information technology development on a #timeline.
my characters are talking to me again and they have a lot to say but this is revealing a flaw in my new workflow. before it was re-read the story a few times, like revving up an engine, attempt to take a nap, fail at that, and if they suggested something, go back to the text, find a place to fit it into and write.
but i ran out of places to fit things into and i've reread it enough i'm a bit blind to it so i've started revving up on other bits and then writing. and now nothing fits.
After reviewing all the other books in this series, I’ve finally gotten around to the first, “Dinosaurs! Explorer”. 😆
It’s a decent intro to #dinosaurs, and while the paleoart could be better, the #timeline is the real attraction, here.

I've seen sites that sort toots by the number of replies, boosts, and likes they get. That's fine but I want more
I want my timeline classified by #machineLearning; I want to create "buckets" and train the #algorithm to identify toots that belong in said buckets. Then I want to add or subtract these buckets from my timeline
Wouldn't it be great, if you could filter your #Timeline in #Mastodon simply by language? Not with a list for accounts, because some people post in multiple languages, but just by language used.
Even though there is no algorithmic #Timeline on #Mastodon, there are ways to find the most interesting/widely shared content from your follows:
I have been using https://news.feedseer.com/ from @decius for a while now for keeping track. You can see the most liked posts in your timeline and the trending #Hashtags, too.
