REAL ART FROM REAL HANDS 🌻 HANG IT, WEAR IT, SIT ON IT, GIFT IT, COLLECT IT #RealArtRealHands
On a long and lonesome highway, east of Omaha
You can listen to the engine moanin' out its one-note song
You can think about the woman, or the girl you knew the night before
Here I am, on a road again
-Bob Seger
Mont St. Michell farm field, looking toward the sunset in the opposite direction from it's more famous cousin. A farm road divides the fields on top of a levee as the sunsets, wonderful clouds in the sky.
The porch - once a prominent part of the home was a place to take a seat, have a glass of cold lemonade on a hot day, read the paper, have a pleasant chat with the neighbor, share a story with friends or family, or daydream. Life as it happened is an homage to the generation of Americans who used to sit on their porch and just enjoy what the day would bring.

The Ocean Beach Pier. San Diego, California, USA. A magical February morning as the Moon was setting over the Ocean Beach Pier. It was a very quiet morning with very few people out by the pier to view this wonderful sight. I love when nature and architecture interact with each other to create a uniquely beautiful scene as this one. #sandiego#fedigiftshop#art#wallart#AYearForArt
Historic Mabry-Hazen House in Knoxville, TN. The once prosperous family is known for a shoot out in the middle of town. And the final member, Evelyn Hazen, filed a breach of promise against a suitor in the 1930s and won! #AmericanHIstory#AYearForArt#SpringIntoArt#FallLight#HistoricHouse
Rafael’s presence in the photo as a teenage art student provides a glimpse into his early years as an artist. (middle) Circa 1950’s - way to “La Cueva” Barranquilla, Colombia
La Cueva was a vibrant cultural hub in the 50’s, where young artists & intellectuals gathered to exchange ideas & inspiration. It is interesting to see how artists' styles & techniques evolve, & how they're influenced by people & places. #TBT#lacueva#barranquilla#colombia#ayearforart#artbooster#springforart#fediart
Hiking on a #cinderCone I could hear the mountain "breathe" - distinct low booms every minute or so, as if hungry. The landscape there is eerie black with #birch#tree forests in stark contrast. I stayed late in the evening for a light show of lava and hot boulders.
All nature has a feeling: woods, fields, brooks
Are life eternal; and in silence they
Speak happiness beyond the reach of books;
There's nothing mortal in them; their decay
Is the green life of change; to pass away
And come again in blooms revivified.
Its birth was heaven, eternal is its stay,
And with the sun and moon shall still abide
Beneath their day and night and heaven wide.
I'm starting 2023 by posting #MyRecordCollection , adding to this thread one each day. These are the albums that made me who I am (for better or worse). That should last most of the year! I'm also updating the art, using techniques I've learned and developed since I began this series in 2009.
