Seeking recommendations for how-to on facilitating a new workplace reading circle for my team. First Q: I'm the boss. Do I facilitate? Do we take turns?
As context we're a very flat group, no one into hierarchical power differences, my ego isn't a factor. We have several newer staff (about to go up to 9, from 3 people in Feb. 2022) and we're 100% telework, want to build/maintain sense of belonging. We brainstormed long list, voted on what to read.

The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles. Three young men and a child, good hearts and bad parents, in a non-inclusive society. The story is told by each character in turn, in a pleasant, neat writing that I really enjoyed. The ending felt both surprising and inevitable somehow. According to my bookclub friends, not as good as A Gentleman in Moscow, but I liked it. @bookstodon

Berliners, we’re hosting a little book swap on Aug 11 in Kreuzberg: Bring a book that means something to you, leave with a new book to read, have good chats in between! https://www.meetup.com/unread-bookclub/events/294697250/ (please rsvp)

A reminder that I'm still interested in starting up a book club:

— Meeting times benefit Europe/UK/Africa/GMT
— WhatsApp (Text-based) group chat.
— Generally being nerds about books together.
— Open to input and feedback.

We have 4 total members and I'm not heading for a huge conglomerate, but I'd like a little more variety before we get going.
If you're interested, please let me know via dm and I'll be sure to add you. Please boost for reach.

I only managed to read 5 books in 2022. My brain was just too broken to focus on words on a page. 😩 I'm hoping to change that in 2023.

I was finally able to pick up a book earlier this month. I devoured the beginning. Then my brain started to be an asshole, so the middle took a while to get through. But I devoured the ending over the past couple of days.

Book 1: The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean
Finished Reading: 24 April 2023

After not having the mental energy to pick up a book for the past 5 months, I was finally able to do so at the end of last week. This book sucked me in from the start (even though I didn't read over the weekend). I almost couldn't put it down last night. I finished it up after work today.

Book 4: Killing Me by Michelle Gagnon
Finished Reading: 18 Oct 2023
