I think there are tons of people who would love a regular car, an EV or Hybrid, without all that other electronic junk. Purposefully making transitioning to cleaner options too expensive is a stupid policy.

How to succeed over difficult problems?

This interview covers my formative experience during the personal computers and internet revolution in navigating uncharted waters, and unfamiliar, unexplored territories like we are doing again with Artificial Intelligence right now.

The interview also introduces the micro-guide to Complexity-thinking as a fundamental tool for the challenge => https://youtu.be/Mb9wrBtu7XI?si=4ysSoJyv1Rrar6tV

"That impulse to scour away the messiness that makes life resilient is what many conservation biologists call the “pathology of command and control.” Today, the same drive to centralize, control and extract has driven the internet to the same fate as the ravaged forests."

all about visualisations of networks composed by the artist using string of words: an opera which took years to make! Also, stunning visualisation of the expansion dynamics of slime mold samples grown and photographed by the author.

I love big-O notation when doing theory to focus on big ideas,

but constants can matter in practice, and often do!

(Leading constants moreso. To focus on leading constant but still ignore lower order terms you can use asymptotic equality ~)

It is informed by Complexity-thinking and Promise Theory (for how distributed agents offer and consume services making and keeping or not promises).

In 2021, research concluded that medical orthodoxy, such as ‘droplet dogmatism’, blocked the acceptance that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was mainly transmitted through the air, in spite of knowledge from fields outside infectious disease.

Established and institutionalized professional organizations too often lack the diversity of thinking necessary to deal with complex problems, such as a novel coronavirus.

Interesting result on cellular automata:
Conway's Game of Life is Omniperiodic
https://arxiv.org/abs/2312.02799v1

"In the theory of cellular automata, an oscillator is a pattern that repeats itself after a fixed number of generations; that number is called its period. A cellular automaton is called omniperiodic if there exist oscillators of all periods. "

While Israel has a right to retaliate after the violent Hamas incursion, I think the Netanyahu administration is now guilty of war crimes, for which he should go to jail. They've been utterly indifferent to the well-being of non-combatants and refugees. But recently there were internet claims that the horrors carried out by Hamas in its attack were actually done by Israel on its own people. Remember that Putin funds and uses Hamas. These claims are classic Russian disinformation.
