I am hearing conflicting opinions on #HopeHicks and her testimony at the #trump trial.
Some are saying it was very bad for trump while others are saying she bolstered the story that he did the payoff to only keep his family from finding out.
I don't think anyone disputes that #michaelcohen was Trump's attorney at the time #trump reported the hush money reimbursement to Choen as legal expenses.
It was the cover-up that was illegal. The books were cooked to protect the 2016 campaign.
Jonathan Freedland offers a summary of where we are:
'The Tories are so unpopular because so much is broken & there is not enough money to fix it. Right now, that is the Tories’ problem, one that promises to sweep them out of power. But once it has, it will become Labour’s problem. And it could hardly be more daunting'!
Of course, there being 'not enough money' is Tory policy not a fiscal fact, but otherwise this offers a fair/concise signpost to our future (I think).
The Trumpy voter-fraud people are priming the pump for conspiracies by posting silly message board questions about getting an ID to vote in elections if not a citizen.

In one poll of 1,046 adults by Florida Atlantic University and Mainstreet Research, 40 percent of all voters said they would vote for Biden and 38 percent would choose Trump in a race in which independent candidate Robert F. When I ask people about Gaza+Israel they mostly say: Palestinians are oppressed. Israel should exist. Hamas is bad. Oct 7 was terrorism. Hostages must be returned. Israel is committing war crimes. They're pro-student protests even if they are not pro-divestment. They're holding many things at once. Why is the media failing to depict those Americans? It's a large block!
The list of things they're holding at once, that's not a bad place to start! Why isn't the reporting telling that story.

Fun run-in at the polling station this morning with the officer who refused to recognise an EEA driving licence even though their visual guide issued clearly stated they are accepted visual ID documents because A) th licence was issued in Germany and B) I wouldn't be allowed to use it anyway because I have been in the UK for more than a year. Republicans instigated many problems university presidents are causing with heavy-handed police activity when they threatened to cut education funding over DEI efforts.
The GOP is destroying higher education across the nation by pressuring college presidents into destructive actions to avoid funding cuts and takeovers.
This line - although written in jest - pretty much sums up the GOP playbook.

In the past 3 weeks, the #Biden admin has extended overtime pay for 4 mil workers, moved to cancel student debt for 25 mil borrowers, banned non-competes, banned drilling on 13 mil acres of AK wilderness, forced airlines to give refunds for delayed/ canceled flights and restored net neutrality.
Doesn't matter given that nobody knows this, popularism is BS, there's no liberal equivalent of Fox, the legacy media is relentlessly hostile and Biden's the elderly PM of Israel. #Election2024
