The , developed by researchers in and the , were able to convert 11 per cent of the ’s energy into , making them suitable for commercial use. The 11 per cent achieved in the latest tests is far greater than the efficiency levels of around one or two per cent that printed flexible solar panels currently offer.

£58bn plan to rewire Great Britain expected to spark tensions along route

Hidden are two gems, Scotland already generates nearly 15GW of renewable power, far outstripping the peak winter Scottish demand of 5GW. The government has suggested offering reduced bills to areas where demand is lower than supply.

So why do we pay more in Scotland, impoverishing communities where electricity is the only practical form of heating?

Dear #writers
I'm begging you, please just talk to a behavioral scientist/psychologist before publishing. Or read a textbook. Read Wikipedia. Anything.

"Psychotic" doesn't mean what you think it does. No, that's not why therapy works. Your armchair theories about mental illnesses and substance use need to be updated or scrapped altogether. Freud's theories were never any good and haven't been relevant for decades.

While I'm here: you also might not know what "bemused" means, and even if you do, please limit its use to perhaps twice in one book.

"The #moon can never be seen in the daytime."

"The shower gets hot because of #fusion"

"#Electricity cannot travel through air."

"#QuantumPhysics proves that all events are random and nothing can be predicted."

The phrases above are how ridiculous it would look if certain #writers wrote about physical science without consulting an actual scientist or even reading a couple of Wikipedia articles, like they do about behavioral science.

Question for the or maybe bubble:

If I have a relais rated for switching 20 A at 230VAC, can I use the same relais for switching 20A at 24VDC? My intuition is yes, but I can't seem to be able to find a clear answer as the Internet is littered with discussions about using AC for DC switching and vice versa whereas my interest is on the "it's already switched" side.

France wants to take the lead in rolling out safer, cleaner as an alternative to – but the growing number of start-ups promising to the with small reactors is raising questions about safety and responsibility.

In 2000, ND was estimated to have enough wind to double US electrical output. Just ND. But hey! then they discovered #tarsands and no one was willing to invest in transmission.

The primary driver of energy demand is #climateadaptation. Not AI, not crypto, although they are crazy big.

Part of adaptation must be building #windpower - which is second-hand #solarpower (but a lot easier to convert to #electricity) - and various forms of #gravitybatteries such as water reservoirs.

An illustration of why you don't mess with downed power lines. Over the winter a line went down and hung arcing into the street. It vaporized the asphalt road surface and fused sand into glass. The surface was freshly paved and smooth when winter started; the damage is all caused by the power line. Glad the power got shut off before more damage was done.
