I’m curious how many #OpenSource communities have had their communication bifurcated because the Libera.Chat #IRC bridge was shut down “temporarily” (seems indefinitely) on #Matrix?
I was hoping my #Matrix experience would be better after setting up my own #Synapse and #Element servers, but I think it's worse. It takes 10-15+ minutes to join a room that's on another server.
I really want Matrix to be the federated chat platform that #OpenSource communities (and others) can move to, but we need to somehow solve these latency problems.

When writing new posts like this one and also when writing comments aka replies, how do I auto complete user display names when mentioning them? Is it keyboard accessible.
@feb I can't make it work. Perhaps it's not enough keyboard accessible or something similar. Can you please try to describe how you use this feature in slightly more details please? When trying to mention your display name I start typing the @ sign followed by mat, then pressing up or down arrow keys I am expecting I should be able to select from the list of suggestions. Pressing the tab key to trigger the auto complete is not working the way I would expect as well. To reference an accessible autocomplete implementation I can point out #element#matrix client for example. When using #tuskyapp with my #friendica account I can autocomplete #Hastags but I can't complete user mentions.
Hey @element devs, getting #notifications for emoji reactions is very annoying. Especially when there's no way to click on a particular notification and get taken to the message or reaction it's related to.
PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS. I am looking for a React-capable, full-stack developer who would like to lead a new fork of #Element.io. The existing forks are simply not very aggressive, and there is a massive void for a project that is. @milan@dxu ich habe es im proppenvollen Hauptraum von Matrix.org mit #ElementX parallel zu #Element ausprobiert: Der Unterschied in der Reaktionszeit auf Posts von außen ist doch gewaltig und kommt an das ran, was man von #Signal und Co. kennt.
Nå er element x ute av beta!!! Dette er vist starten på det som skal bli MATRIX 2.0, og jeg er spent. For om element x er representabelt for hva som kommer, så er jeg med! 🤯
For å forklare! Element x appen løser mange av problemene den originale appen er kjent for å ha. Den har nå super rask synkronisering og super responsiv app.
Virker som det eksisterer et stort marked som ikke er tilfredsstilt innen sikker kommunikasjon tilhørende organisasjoner, bedrifter og offentligheten, i følge @element sin undersøkelse. 😯
To be honest: Even after the response, the original article – and my own experience with Matrix & Element – leaves me wondering whether Matrix is really the way to go, and whether these issues can ever be solved.

Że też typowi się nie znudzi. Ma chyba dużo wolnego czasu. To kolejny argument za tym, że należy uspołecznić środki produkcji, coby kapitaluchy nie obijały się trollując z nudów.

Ist zuallererst ein Matrix-Server welcher vom Luki e.V. zur Verfügung gestellt wird. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich aber die mobile Apps von Synod.im. Diese sind ein Fork der Element-App, bereinigt von Trackern und mit einem Altersrating, was es auch Jugendlichen ermöglicht, die App zu installieren.

✨ Cold start up time for Element X Android has significantly improved from 3-4sec to 100-150ms for accounts with 1000, 2000 or even 4000 rooms (≈30x speed up). That’s awesome! ✨
