Just installed the Dawntrail benchmark using Lutris and the script from this post, works great! https://blooym.dev/blog/ffxiv-dawntrail-benchmark-linux/

h/t to @FibroJedi for the link!

Haven’t gotten this to run full size yet, does very well on my laptop at the default windowed size. 🤷 Borderless claims full size but the window is the same. I’ll try Fullscreen later.

OK, fine, what's the easiest way to install/run the Dawntrail benchmark under Linux? Lutris? Just muck about with Wine? Heroic?

@perishthethought You could very easily use as a launcher for each game! Just set them up as you were launching a single game from the terminal. As far as a 3rd party GUI goes though, really is the most straight forward yer gonna find. Setting it up is not as huge an undertaking as it first appears. I'd be happy to help you get it configured if you need, just holler.

Never mind, Tumbleweed kinda sucks so far. I remember why I stopped trying to use it.

-Proprietary Nvidia drivers are a clusterfuck of information, and sudo zypper install-new-recommends --repo NVIDIA as per the manual doesn't work even though I added the repo
-They make you make your own bash script for prime-run after you install suse-prime
-Applications I install don't make shortcuts in KDE
-I had to use a GUI to install cause the repo isn't in by default

Oh well.

Currently installing on Linux to check it out, since it's pretty much the last game seriously stopping me from fully abandoning Windows. Excited to see how it plays out, the install has been child's play so far, thanks to . Now to wait for the download.

Finally figured out how to play games I start from @lutris with my Steam Controller:
Add Lutris as a Non-Steam game.

I tried adding games to Steam via Lutris's context menu option "Create Steam shortcut" but that would only put the Steam Controller into Desktop mode for the game.

So anyone looking to use Steam Controller with games started from Lutris:

  • In Steam Launch: Add Non-Steam game
  • Check Lutris in the menu
  • Start Lutris from Steam
  • Start game in Lutris

Hey folks! I have a weird issue when I want to Play Cyberpunk 2077. I have an AMD R 4700G CPU and RX6600 GPU, running Debian 12 with its default kernel. When running CP2077 with lutris, GE-8.15 (other versions same issue) and with enabled in the Advanced setting, the GPU utilization is only at 70% all the time,no matter which graphic settings and resolution i choose.I tried many, also setting ENV Vars, like described in https://linux-gaming.kwindu.eu/index.php?title=Improving_performance

idea why this happens. Only one time I achived getting the GPU 100% utilized and Frames around 80-90FPS when being on High settings. After a restart the old state is back - only having ~55 FPS and 70% GPU usage.

I am a bit out of idea. I also already tried the backports Kernel 6.4 and 6.5 but that also did not changed anything. Did someone also had the same/similar problem?

DeltaLima,
@DeltaLima@social.la10cy.net avatar

Also on a fresh Sid install with from the official lutris repo (and followed the instructions for installing all neccessary drivers https://github.com/lutris/docs/blob/master/InstallingDrivers.md) I am still getting lower performance and GPU usage is around 70-75% Being on High settings, Vsync off. :(

A small but quite comforting update from @lutris :

https://github.com/lutris/lutris/tree/v0.5.14

> Download Wine-GE updates when Lutris starts

When a new GE-proton version from @gloriouseggroll is out, I always download it through Protonup-QT, and set all my games' runners to the new version manually.

Now, when Lutris boots, it downloads the latest version automatically, and sets all unassigned games' runners to newest GE-proton as default.
