And baby makes tree... owl monkeys peep out of a hollow tree on the Marańón River near Nauta, Peru. The nocturnal monkeys make their homes in trees to be shaded from the sun and have a clear view of any predators prowling below

Vadodara, and its Langoors. They're everywhere. It doesn't help that people feed them.

Hiding their willy since the Fediverse is full of cultured gentlemen and ladies.

The two langoors sit atop the car facing the camera. One of them is nibbling a biscuit.

Made a small video loop of the coconut 🥥 grabbing monkey 🙈 for posterity.

Quality is quite bad once cropped and with the morning sun in the back but it’s still amusing.

If the cats wake you up at 4 and you give them food so you can sleep chances are monkeys will be racing on your roof at 7.

— Brazilian proverb

Two monkeys run on the roof. They nearly walk on two legs like humans. It’s comical

It is SO good to see citizens pushing back hard against this plan to massively breed monkeys in a Georgia town, for medical research:." "A plan to establish the largest monkey-breeding facility in the US, which would allow 30,000 macaques to roam within outfitted warehouses in Georgia, is facing a furious backlash from animal rights groups and some local residents." https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/feb/16/georgia-monkey-animal-testing-facility

The Controversial Animal Testing Behind Elon Musk’s Neuralink Project is Killing Animals and Hurting Monkeys

"According to reports, monkeys subjected to Neuralink experiments endured unimaginable suffering, including having holes drilled into their skulls and being implanted with devices that often did not fit properly. These procedures, which involved drilling into the monkeys’ heads multiple times and attaching implants to their brains, resulted in significant physical and psychological trauma for the animals involved.

Disturbingly, the documents also reveal instances where monkeys had parts of their limbs amputated and experienced severe health complications such as vomiting, diarrhea, and seizures. The death reports for these animals paint a grim picture of the toll exacted by Neuralink‘s experiments, with monkeys enduring invasive surgeries and suffering from infections and other ailments before ultimately being euthanized.

The sheer scale of animal testing conducted by Neuralink is staggering, with reports indicating that over 1,500 animals, including sheep, pigs, and monkeys, have been killed in the pursuit of advancing the company’s technology. Such revelations have sparked widespread condemnation from Animal rights groups, who have accused Neuralink of a “systematic disregard” for the well-being of test subjects."

It has a distinctive appearance, which is alluded to in its name; the long white fringes of hair that run along each side of its black trunk are known as a mantle. Its face is framed with white hair and it has a large white tail tuft.
