#MackenzieKing’s “cheerleading” for #Hitler’s regime got a tremendous boost during his tour of landmarks of the #Nazi “miracle,” as Teigrob recounts in riveting detail. The photographs tell a very chilling story as well, especially one that shows King sitting proudly in Hitler’s seat at the All-German Sports Competitions while surrounded by Nazi bigwigs in full swastika-studded regalia.
.....#Nazi#henchmen he considered friends when he spent a day at the #WarCrimes trials in #Nuremberg in 1946. ...King, who never failed to inform his Nazi hosts that he was born and raised in the German settlement of Berlin, Ontario (Kitchener), paid a return visit to the old-country Berlin to view the devastation wrought on the capital of the #ThirdReich by #Hitler — the man, King had confided to his diary, whom he believed “might come to be thought of as one of the saviours of the world.”
#Zionist murderers gathering before an attack on #Rafah, with one soldier rallying the troops and urging them to "destroy Rafah".
It should be recalled here that the principle of "obedience to orders" as a defence was rejected during the #Nuremberg trials, which established that individuals have a moral and legal duty not to obey orders that involve the commission of crimes against humanity or the violation of human rights. #Genocide

To anyone in and around Erlangen/Nueremberg, I am organising a german introduction to Emacs next week (10.5.) at my university. My intention is to give a high-level, value-driven overview instead of wasting time on accidental and superficial features such as Magit, Org-Mode, SLIME, etc. (there are plenty of those already).
29 Mar 1577: Sir Philip Sidney arrives at #Nuremberg#otd where at dinner he explains why there were no wolves in #England & he talks of #Ireland where he had visited his father Henry the Lord Deputy (NPG)
Hey kiwis, if you know a market fundamentalist who still thinks commercialising healthcare makes it more "efficient", please get them to read this;
"... PE-backed hospital chain Steward Health, a company that bought and looted hospitals up and down the country, starving them of everything from heart valves to prescription paper, ripping off suppliers, doctors and nurses, and callously exposing patients to deadly risk."
"The Nuremberg trials are famous for the Nazi officers who insisted that they were 'just following order' but were nonetheless executed for their crimes. 24 Farben executives were also tried at Nuremberg, where they offered a very different defense: 'We had a fiduciary duty to our shareholders to maximize our profits'. 19 of the 24 were acquitted on that basis."
#Israel on trial?
This is not what the #ICJ organises. Its role is to establish the law.
A halt of invasion?
In 2022, the ICJ issued a condemnation on the #Russia invasion, to no consequence.
Kate Ferguson: “Will it be enough to stem the tide of atrocity crimes? No, of course not.” https://www.kcl.ac.uk/people/dr-kate-ferguson@israel
#Israel “has refrained from agreeing to ICJ jurisdiction in all the hundreds of treaties it has signed, except one: the #Genocide Convention. Article 9 of the Convention stipulated that if disagreements arise between the members over the Convention’s authority or interpretation, the ICJ is the place to hear them.”
“Back then, the popular Israeli notion that we do not let gentiles judge us had not yet developed.”
Regional, seasonal, creative, playful, exciting. The most perfect explanations for both the alcoholic and the non-alcoholic pairings and one of the best, fun atmospheres I've ever experienced in high end food places. Oh, and you get to see their experimental kitchen where they dry and pickle and preserve stuff 😍
I'll definitely be coming back at a different time of the year!
"“[The problem is] the desire for each country to maximise their own production,” he said. There needed to be an internationally coordinated and equitable global phase-out of fossil fuels, Lazarus said."
If you're attending @marcthiele's and my border:none conference on October 26-27 and are in town anyway, you might be interested to know that @tantek.com@tantek.com and I will also be hosting the first #IndieWebCamp in #Nuremberg since 2018 right after #bono23 (on Saturday and Sunday). Don't miss the chance to join us if you're up for some great conversations and tinkering with your personal site (existing or yet to be created). It's free and will be fun! 🌞
There's a part in 100 Years of Solitude where a character witnesses a massacre of striking banana plantation workers by the state/company, he was the only survivor, but when he goes back to the town to tell everyone, no one believes him, they say there never was a massacre and barely even remember the banana plantation at all.
I can't shake the feeling of familiarity as region after region this year suffers wildfires, floods, droughts, hurricanes, and each new disaster is treated like it's new, and is forgotten as soon as its over.
2020 fake electors acted 'at the direction' of Trump: lawsuit
"Attorneys for the president specifically instructed Ms. Facchinello that the Republican electors' meeting and casting their ballots on Dec. 14, 2020, was consistent with counsels' advice and was necessary to preserve the presidential election contest."
If you enjoy calming images of a #rainbow on social media, be aware that you haven't seen yet such a rainbow thing with two extra suns. In 1645, in the last years of of the later called #ThirtyYearsWar, these rainbows and three suns were maybe seen near #Nuremberg, and interpreted as a godly sign for peace and a reminder to behave better. #histodons
