This is what my vegan lunch looked like before I destroyed it with my face. A vegan burger with a house-made black bean patty. I’m not gluten-free, but those onion rings are. And they were hella good.
The 7th First Annual Ladds 500 took place in southeast Portland today and it was absolutely amazing. Well over 500 people (estimated!) pedaled circles around Ladd Circle Park until they hit 100 miles. They began at 10:00 am and some of them are probably still pedaling as I type this.
Grateful to live in #PDX where we have terrestrial radio stations like KBOO… 8/1/73 Eyes > Morning Dew was perfect music for me to drive across town fetching birthday cupcakes for my 6 year old
Welcome to the April 12th BikeNite! Thanks for joining, and I hope we all enjoy chatting about cycle stuff! Feel free to answer whenever at your convenience. Anyone can join, now or later. Reply to what you like, and boost for visibility.
We'll start out with our introduction, inspired by comment from @rodbotic:
Q1. Where are you posting from today? What does a typical ride for you look like? Share a photo if you'd like. #BikeNite#BikeNiteQ
@ascentale@rodbotic#BikeNite A1. My typical ride is 7 miles to the library with a good stretch along a power line linear park in #Beaverton#PDX. It’s kinda fragmented with narrow walking paths and sections where I have to cross pretty busy roads (Farmington, TV Highway, and Murray). On sunny days, I can take my #Schwinn Prelude acoustic and others I take my #Benno E-Scout.
We only got a glimpse of a partial eclipse here in Portland, OR. But the clouds thinned out just enough, for only a few minutes, letting me grab a very lucky shot of it.
Obscured number cuz the chance of anyone on mastodon knowing the dog is slim but if you’re in my area and you know it, let me know directly and I can pass it on.
> In February 2021, the city’s first alternative, non-police emergency response team, Portland Street Response (PSR), was launched after two years of planning and advocacy. By February 2023, its future was in jeopardy. As uncertainty around funding and future leadership hangs over PSR, the public has a plea for city hall: Fund, expand, and stabilize the program....
final day to provide feedback about the 82nd Ave Major Maintenance Project. #PBOT’s current plans do not include improvements to a majority of sidewalks or any accommodations for people riding #pdxBikes along #SE82nd at all, no #BusLanes for the bus line with the highest ridership in #Oregon??
Not quite dry yet in this photo, but here's a peek at my results from dye class at Knitted Wit / Craft Emporium today!
We learned 3 different techniques and I bought an extra skein just to make a rainbow. I'm definitely going to try their "giggling" technique again at home. If you're in #pdx they've got another class coming up that still has spaces and I highly recommend it!
Daughter applying for an apartment in Portland, Oregon. Manager requires 5x income (???), seriously. So she needed me to apply as a co-signor. We both had to pay a $59.95 application fee. How have we allowed this? Who tf is in charge? No wonder so many folks are houseless or housing insecure or living at home. #housing#rentals#pdx Imagine having to apply to several places? This should be illegal.
The Max driver is stopping at every stop - getting out, looking back down the line, then going back in the driver's room and moving to the next stop. No idea what the actual heck. #PDX#trimet
