I made a peach pie! My quest is completed. This from a big honking jar of Bulgarian peaches. It should keep me happy until the fresh local Ontario peaches come along in summer.
Thought I would post a bit of garden stuff now I'm indoors.
So what grew well for you this year? and what didn't!
Our early heatwave brought on the best harvest of Peach and Nectarines so far. The trees are about 15 years old . in a polytunnel and grown from thrown away stones. Final harvest was 25kg of peach, 6kg of nectarines. Although later summer was nowhere near as hot they still had amazing flavour. #growyourown#gardening#peaches#nectarines
Haven’t heard it in ages but Fuck the Pain Away just came on and it’s such a banger. Love #Peaches &, now that I think about it, a lot of the electro(clash) of that era. Mind you, maybe now isn’t quite the time to be talking about how great the noughties were… #Electroclash#electronicmusic#ElectroPunk
Peach season in #Colorado. Time to put up #peaches in the freezer. Wash ripe peaches, slice, mix in ascorbic acid (Vit C powder) to prevent oxidation and spoon them into quart freezer bags. Best peaches from Western slope in CO.
Wir können jeden Daumen und jedes Pfoten drücken gebrauchen unsere #Peaches hat einen Knubbel unter dem Bauch. Wir fahren jetzt zum #Felldoc hoffentlich ist es nichts schlimmes...
No more than a handful of peaches from my trees this year. The trees that have survived, that is. Maybe it's just getting too hot in the Florida panhandle to grow them anymore. Should have plenty of hard (and not very flavorful) pears, however. #countrylife#floridapanhandle#fruit#peaches#ClimateChange
"The greatest challenge posed by #ExtremeWeather right now, agronomists say, is to specialty crops: the #peaches in Georgia and #olives in Spain, for instance, but also #berries in the Pacific Northwest and #cherries in western Michigan, and almonds in California"
So, I need to remember to harvest all my #peaches before the second week of july. I went outside today to see no peaches on my tree and bare pits on the ground. I wish I had a camera to see if it was a racoon or possum.
