I am going down the rabbit hole with research for my new story. What I was originally planning to have as cosmic horror is becoming more and more eco-horror based on the history of New Brunswick. There’s so much going on here: expropriation for Base Gagetown and Mactaquac, huge amounts of DDT sprayed everywhere, rampant deforestation, and heavy testing of Agent Orange (and all the other rainbow herbicides). Who needs Cthulhu when there’s corporate/military/industrial poisoning on a grand scale? And that’s not even getting into the fracking.

Abandoned farmlands could play a role in fighting climate change. A new study shows exactly where they are.

Farmland could be used to grow crops like switchgrass or sorghum, which can trap carbon in the soil and serve as feedstocks for biofuels and replacements for petrochemicals.

Organizations with a history of seeking user lock in for profit will eventually abandon donated services and seek user lock in for profit.

If you're doing , by all means use these while you can. And also ensure that your work can be done without them, because one day it'll need to.

A 1972 MIT study predicted that rapid economic growth would lead to societal collapse in the mid 21st century. A new paper shows we’re unfortunately right on schedule.

A remarkable new study by a director at one of the largest accounting firms in the world has found that a famous, decades-old warning from MIT about the risk of industrial civilization collapsing appears to be accurate based on new empirical data
