I've modified my sailboat trailer to connect our tag-along/tow-behind kids trailer.
It connects much more easily than the old hitch and isn't damaging my rear rack anymore. It's honestly amazing that we happened to have a bike trailer that we weren't using anymore that fit almost perfectly into the trailer frame.
This past week I visited where I used to live. I got to watch as the sailboats lazily cruised around the harbor...such a wonderful sight on a sunny afternoon! I created this image when I got home. It's part of my series of artwork with a quilted effect. (Not a real quilt!)
Have tried and failed a few times to create an #Introduction - so here goes.
1st time social media user, deeply political (left, woke, anti-capitalist, socially liberal - will vote #Green because #StarmerIsATory): believe in kindness and my own personal responsibility. Grew up in an extrame RC Cult, so now very atheist - but a bit less angry than I was.
When I was young, I did some cool and not entirely safe things, like #sailing with two other (much older) guys from California to Hawaii at age 17 (it took 25 days), a bit of rock climbing, doubling the highway speed limit in my orange ‘69 #Camaro (sigh).
Yeah, well, today I licked the batter off the spoon even though the box says, “DO NOT EAT RAW BATTER” in red letters. So there.
I'm a geographer working as a research data manager & web dev for the archaeology. I'm a longtime @qgis user, which I teach. I started learning & using #python and #django 2 years ago.
Beside geospatial and web, I've worked before as a performer & artist. I'm also into #sailing, and I've been #livingaboard during a couple of years. I'm fluent in French, English & Spanish.
Last but not least, I'm the admin of mapstodon.space - quite happy to see y'all around here!
#Introduction : I'm a retired biologist living in coastal North Carolina (USA). I am a future resident of the Pacific Northwest. Here are some hashtags that might give you an idea of my interests.
