"#Tangara is a portable #musicplayer. It outputs high-quality sound through a 3.5 mm headphone jack or Bluetooth, has great battery life, and includes a processor that’s powerful enough to support any audio format you can throw at it. It’s also 100% #openhardware running #opensource software, which makes it easy to customize, #repair, and upgrade. Tangara plays what you want to hear, however you want to hear it." https://www.crowdsupply.com/cool-tech-zone/tangara
@jacqueline have you considered adding an ai dj into #tangara to capitalise on the hype?
It could randomly choose songs owned by big record labels and play them more, then upload the plays when Tangara is plugged into a computer. You could then charge users royalties to play their songs, and collect heaps from these big record companies - go public, sell shares, and profit? Thoughts?
My #tangara parts arrived today from PCBWay! Thanks @jacqueline for the incredible work. Sensational stuff. Just waiting on my Tigard jtag flasher now to get the software on it!
I just tried to sync a #podcast with an mp3 player from a Mac and was utterly defeated. This used to be so easy!
gPodder seems to be recommended by internet forums, but I couldn't get it to sync.
@jacqueline do you have any ideas for how we might sync podcasts to a #Tangara from macOS? (I'm not asking you to support the crappy $6 mp3 player I'm messing with now, but I don't have a Tangara to play with yet.)

I am #300 who backed #tangara, an open hardware digital audio companion. 🎧
I am so excited, I just can't hide it... sing
Thanks @jacqueline, @buzzyrobin, @ailurux, @ErinRose and Michelle St Claire for making this device. I am already excited to throw my >10k song FLAC file library at it and listen to it with my dt770pro 250 ohm headphones to them.
decided to print off a quick and dirty nonfunctional/mockup #tangara case from the open-source CAD files because I'm excited about the project and want to show my support (disability-tier income means I definitely can't afford to buy one myself, but i really want to see it and its creators flourish!)
They've just launched their funding campaign for it on Crowd Supply, and have immediately blown past their goal, so it seems certain they'll be able to make them. But being totally open source software and hardware, you can also just go make your own!
What are some small, FOSS-powered bluetooth music players that y'all like? Smartphones are a bit too large. Bonus points for using SD cards, usb-c (or other non-proprietary things).
My Sansa Zip Clip running #rockbox is on its way out 😭
@elithebearded the folks behind #tangara are fairly active on mastodon. I've also been interested in it but I have no clue how far out it is from being "ready for sale."
I am hyped for #tangara! My #3dprinted mockup reminds me just how nice it was to have a handheld gadget that actually fit in one hand. The world will be a better place more dedicated music players 😄
In the last days of 2023 I launched the sticker collection "Moss covering objects of our time" and shared it only here on #mastodon. I couldn't have chosen better. The reactions and orders I received gave me energy that will last throughout 2024. Thank you for that.
@OnceUponAGoblin
Seeing this post I wonder if one could design stickers that make the #tangara colourful and themeable like you could theme your winamp back in the 90ies. I would be so hyped. I am already for the device. @jacqueline
