Tip of the day: If you use a Mac and an iPad at the same time, Universal Control allows you to control both devices from a single keyboard and mouse or trackpad. You can use both devices perfectly together while retaining their individual capabilities. Here we’ll show you this feature. https://www.devontechnologies.com/blog/20231128-use-universal-control

Having a collection of work-related tabs in one accent color is nice, and being able to customize their icons and rename them is also important. Here’s what I have so far. https://gitlab.com/taonaw/taonah/-/blob/master/public/20240416T085958--customizing-edge__microsoft.org?ref_type=heads&blame=1

I've made a new #workflow which is tagging and releasing #cd built images automatically too. I can't wait for @nlnetlabs releasing a new #unbound version to watch the #magic. Or to watch it fail.

In my dev-env it works like a charm, though.

I don't want to seem arrogant but I guess this is one of the most feature-rich, secure and advanced image around. And always made with ❤️.

Yeah, I'm a bit proud of myself which is rare.

I'm a lazy person so I've implemented a #cd to automatically #update my #unbound #docker image as soon as @nlnetlabs publishes a new release. No worries, I can and will update the image manually in case #cve's got fixed in a component as you are used to. No sacrifice in terms of #security, so the unbound #sha256 will be populated, too to verify the integrity of the source tarball.

Today I finally got back to where I was on a project on Dec 22.

Sure I got a bunch of other stuff done in the interim, and fought a few fires, but it's also a cautionary tale of how a break in the flow of a project (like holidays) can knock back your continuity and make you climb that hill all over again. I'm glad I kept copious notes in those last days of December.

Tip of the day: When working in , you almost certainly end up with several windows open at once, and even on larger screens you can easily lose track of them. Fortunately, there are some tricks on how to get an overview of your windows and how to find lost ones. https://www.devontechnologies.com/blog/20230829-multiple-windows

Tip of the day: Imagine you have a set of databases you open to work on a specific project. Or a database you occasionally use and open in three windows side-by-side. While it’s possible to manually open databases and windows, has a special function to make this a more dynamic process: Workspaces. https://www.devontechnologies.com/blog/20220621-workspaces-devonthink

Kinda went into a rabbit hole into a minimalist

Leaning towards the following setup (Want to be minimal, have lots of support/tutorials, and ideally FOSS. I want to be up and running asap):

  • Alpine
  • NvChad + tmux + lsp servers ( + more?)
  • surf
  • Sway
  • aerc
  • himitsu

Some questions:

  • Tips on setting up Alpine?
  • Lightweight OBS, Krita, Libreoffice, Ardour6, etc?
  • Other cool software I should look at?

I often draft notes in but eventually need them in Google Docs to discuss with colleagues. Does anyone have recommendations for a quick workflow to move a note into Google Docs while preserving existing formatting?

I currently export as RTF and then copy/paste into Google Docs. That can't be the best solution.

in @hrbrmstr daily drop (https://mastodon.social/@hrbrmstr/111063804154333546), about several control tools.
A very interesting one is the "pueue" tool, which allows also controlling processes on remote servers, selectively pause each process, etc.
Would be useful to orchestrate those cli workflows that require multiple programs, scripts, etc. working on a pipeline, in particular if they are written in diff prog. langs.

Ah yes.

Company announced on Friday: We need to cut 180 mil in operating expenses and there will be redundancies over the next 18 months.

Employees: Aren't you worried about how an 18 month review will impact employee morale and productivity. Nothing like looking over your shoulder and constantly wondering if you should start looking for a new job.

Company: it's a risk we have to take to make the savings we need.

Employees: Why are we paying to outsource and switch operating software at this time? What is the cost of that.
