Rewatching Fellowship of the Ring, and I'm struck every time by just how great the music is. Maybe my all-time favorite score. A John Williams-like focus on targeted themes, but with a Wagnerian romanticism. The ring theme is so haunting.

Watching scifi movies and seeing a character ask an AI to do or evaluate something hits different now.

I'm watching Alien: Covenant and the pilot just asked the spaceship AI how close they could get to the storm in the planet's atmosphere.

The AI answered 80 kilometres, which I assume at this point is a confidently wrong answer, probably pulled from an unattributed blogpost systems away about a different ship, different atmosphere, and different storm.

Saw footage of Trump's hate fest in New Hampshire.

Conspicuously absent: the "Blacks For Trump" folks. None of them were standing behind him this time around.

They must have been told to sit in the back of the crowd. And enter through the "service entrance" along with the janitors.

@GottaLaff The actions by Paxton are a disgusting example of the GOP stance trying to control women. The delays by the TX Supreme Court is even worse in its impact on delays further threatening Cox's health and future ability to bear a child. How can any of these men look themselves in the mirror? What happens when one of their precious wives, daughters, granddaughters is in danger of death?
