A professor reccomended Professor Neil Shubin books as well. I’ve read all three and it really gave me a better perspective on life. Neil Shubin “Your inner fish”. Sooo much fun!

Diary of an ASD Squirrel. Day 205 , Monday 20/05/2024

Was up till the early hours of this morning with stomach cramps after last nights daring attempt to eat scrambled eggs & beans for tea.

Spent the day getting lots of exercise up & down the stairs to take a pew, if you get my drift.

Attempted to interact on here a couple of times but my brain is apparently on sick leave so it didn’t go exactly to plan 🙄🤦‍♂️

Hopefully tomorrow will be better !

Final Thoughts.

Is the babel fish truly a fish if it spends most of its life out of water ?
This & other great questions of our age will have to wait until I can think straight!

I mean what is the order that happens to our brain to be able to comprehend stuff?
Like it was made for it?

Even when we sleep we are slightly conscious. It’s just a different degree, so what is consciousness really?

Autistic burnout + untreated ADHD =

impulse control issues + inability to force yourself to do anything + drained by no ability to function

Lots of walking pass a mess unable to make yourself clean it, then blame yourself for it.

Distracted, can't focus enough to do fun things and/or take care of yourself.

Forgetting everything. So burned out you can't remember important things + made worse by ADHD.

I’ve been through burnout for a couple years and I’ve read everything done everything. Every hack or medicine.

What helped me:
Knowing I am audhd: Helped imposter, so did Dunning Kruger.
Which mean most under or over estimate ability.

Removing fear and shame and replacing them with learning from mistakes and practicality for fear. Resilience and self love for shame.

Also I accepted myself. Fully as I am. Forgave everyone including myself.

Think I’ve figured out the secret to calming myself down when I get a bit revved up.

I got a little too ADHD hyper, so I drank half a Red Bull and now I feel sedated and need a nap lol

I think it would be fun to drive to DC take the train to Philly stop by pick up some people go to Ithica, Ny then nycity and explore a bit maybe hang for a couple days go then up to Vermont spend a week in Burlington then over to Boston I have a couple friends in every city I have listed via car or van then perhaps and stop by Salem then back up to northern Maine coast then sail to Nova Scotia, then stay there a week go to Ontario via car or train stop by and see my mates

I’ve got a good many friends in interesting places in Canada then spend a full month in Canada then proceed south into Washington seatle to Montana over to Oregon and California then onto New Mexico I’m not sure after there 😆 I thought about Mexico but I have more friends in South American friends tbh and in Europe and Asia and Aussie after that.

I am thinking about upgrading my equipment for a little.
I own: barefoot shoes for running, and at the moment I use the Strava app, I have an old Mi Band 4 to measure the heart-rate, but can’t link it with the app.
Clothes now are old band shirts and cotton shorts.
Do polyester shirts really make sense relating to staying dry?
Also considering getting a Garmin Venu 3or2 for better measurement/tracking.
What do you use? :)

@a_whole_lotta_love I don’t run I’m trying to balance now between writing walking birdwatching studying researching gardening cleaning up after cats in my morning lol …I get about 8,000 steps in half a day of being semi busy I use an Apple Watch. I do hike though, forest hiking, 🥾. Oh I just bought a mountain bike for 5 bucks lol figured I may try to fix it up hit up the local trails.

@a_whole_lotta_love yeah I keep a couple healthy things that bring joy or fun get some exercise look for some wild plants. When exe isn’t working great it helps clear my mind even a half out of being in nature.

What are we doing to our populations and what is the effect over time? Abuse culture with hazing and bullying in general in competitive dynamics?

Y'all want to hear a fact that really changed the way I thought about homelessness?

Half of all homeless people were in the foster system at some point. Social Workers often call the foster system The Highway to Homelessness. If you ever had a point in your life where you had to live with friends or family to for a short time to get back on your feet, remember that is a privilege that not everyone had.

I’ve often thought of making a privilege tree and then map it out like a D and D character sheet so people can see the advantages they had that others did not. 🤔

It really opened my eyes and makes me grateful for what I have while I have it. 🥹
