NCAA and the nation’s five biggest conferences have agreed to pay nearly $2.8 billion to settle a host of antitrust claims,a monumental decision that sets the stage for a groundbreaking revenue-sharing model that could start directing millions of dollars directly to athletes as soon as the 2025 fall semester.
@GottaLaff
Money and greed have ruined Pro sports to the point that I seldom watch it anymore and certainly won’t pay for the privilege of doing so. College Sports are headed down the same path.
@paul@GottaLaff I feel for you. Life in Michigan has been so calm since we elected our 3 strong women, and gave them a blue majority legislature. The legislature isn't actively embarrassing us weekly now. The GOP legislature, when we had a D governor specialized in passing poisonous legislation that they knew she'd veto, so that they could campaign on it. Psychos.
Rep. Jamie Raskin & Sen. Richard Blumenthal have intro’d legislation to enforce the Constitution's explicit language banning foreign #emoluments by prohibiting the President, VP, Cabinet officials and Members of Congress from accepting payments from foreign governments without first obtaining the consent of Congress.
Officials would be prohibited from accepting foreign payments without Congressional approval during the entire time in office and for two years after leaving.
In light of the second Alito flag report, Senate Judiciary Chair Dick Durbin is calling for Samuel #Alito to recuse himself "immediately" from cases related to the 2020 election and the Jan. 6 insurrection "for the good of the country."
He adds: "The Chief Justice must see how this is damaging the Court and immediately enact an enforceable code of conduct."
I don’t know how many scandals it’s going to take to do something about the Supreme Court. This seems like a crisis, and the only response we get from SCOTUS is how dare anyone criticize us.
@GottaLaff
I'm glad he detected the problem and avoided a terrible crash.
But that said I think anyone who trusts self driving cars at this point in time is a little bit foolish..
Senate again fails to advance border security bill in election-year showdown vote
The vote came as both parties try to paint themselves as tough on the border.
@GottaLaff The Repubs are making it clear that supporting trump in any circumstance is the top priority. Even in a stand alone vote on a bill authored by one of their own. Partisan hacks.
AG #Garland rejects the #Trump claim that Biden tried to assassinate him during the Mar-a-Lago raid:
"That allegation is false and it is extremely dangerous. The document that is being referred to in the allegation is a Justice Department standard policy limiting the use of force. As the FBI advises, it is part of a standard operations plan for searches and in fact it was even used in the consensual search of President Biden's home."
@GottaLaff Rest, sweetie, rest! You're buzzing around like your behind's on fire. I'll miss you so much. Just knowing you're not a "neighbor" any more.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called on Supreme Court Justice Samuel #Alito to recuse himself from Jan. 6 cases after news that, according to The New York Times, a second flag of a type carried by Jan. 6 rioters was displayed outside Alito’s home.
JUST IN: DC Circuit denies en banc review to Peter #Navarro, former #Trump aide currently serving 4-month sentence for contempt of Congress for defying subpoenas.
No judge asked for a vote on his en banc petition. Katsas, who worked in Trump WH, recused. #legal
