Riddle me this, Batman: I have rear wheel hub motor from the original Swytch bike indigogo campaign. 36v,22a controller. It was on a 700c wheel and I could regularly get up to 26-28mph on max PAS on a flat. I had the motor re-laced into a 20" wheel and can barely get above 16-17mph. After looking closely at the motor, it seems likes it's a Shengyi DGW22, which is nearly identical to the sx2 from GRIN, standard wind. 1/2

@enobacon nope, none of that other stuff changed.

If I simulate with the Shengyi standard wind, I get 22mph for the 700c wheels and 17mph for the 20". If I simulate with the Shengyi fast wind, I get 24mph and 21.5mph respectively.

It'll never stop being weird to me that frozen produce is often cheaper than the fresh versions of the same thing. For example: brussels sprouts at $1.50/lb frozen vs. $3.50/lb fresh.

@ZachWeinersmith Ke Huy Quan as a grown up short round that goes around liberating all the artifacts Indiana stole, and returns them to the people he stole them from. Indy is a museum curator and they run into each other at a swanky function while Short Round cases the museum. As it dawns on Indy what's happening, Short Round leaves in a hurry and calls over his shoulder "No time for love, Dr. Jones."

I've noticed a lot of people on here who have #ADHD work with computers. Computers never clicked for me and I feel like I'm missing something so now I'm curious, if you have ADHD, what do you like about working with computers?

@PacificNic I don't. 😆 I'd much rather be working/creating with my hands. I just sort of fell into this career after leaving an even more unfulfulling career (Law). But it turns out I'm REALLY good at troubleshooting issues with minimal information. I don't know if that is the experience of others with ADHD though.

I quite literally feel your pain. :/

I once repeatedly dipped my hand into actively boiling water, said "ow!" each time, expecting it to be less hot each time. It took 5 or 6 attempts before I realized I wasn't getting anywhere with that strategy. I also currently have a large burn blister on my leg from letting a red-hot metal chunk fall on it after cutting it off with an angle grinder. I thought to myself "wow, why is that so sharp and pointy?? OH SHIT, that's gonna leave a mark."

@greendesignek I gotta say, after over 23 years in Portland I'm not currently overly enthusiastic about it's future. If Mapps manages to secure the mayorship and PBA-funded jerkwads like Gonzalez et al get most of the council seats this slow downward spiral we've been in (due in no small part to Wheeler) is gonna be more like a toilet being flushed. :/

@enobacon FWIW, I go even further out of the way for that Capitol to Fred Meyer stretch. Capitol through Multnomah Village to Vermont to Bertha. It's hillier, but I REALLY dislike riding on Barbur. Painting a line in the gutter on a Highway and calling it a bike lane doesn't stop it from being a gutter along a highway.

@lzg @pborenstein personally, just some indication of the goal of the meeting would be sufficient for me. Eg "quarterly review of effectiveness of recently implemented processes in response to California Audit" or "XYZ system isn't working. Discuss details of issue and possible remedies." Enough to know what's going to be expected of attendees.

This GMAC tandem is my first big hub motor and wow, this thing goes! I still need to test it on a steep hill fully loaded but it just delivers power where the bbs02 on my edgerunner would have me so busy managing shifting. I have 250 and 350W 36V geared hub motor , but did not expect the amount of thrust (this is the "slow" winding in a 20in wheel so it has all of the torques.)

@enobacon What voltage? Any idea what your top speed is looking like? I've got a shengyi dgw22 that's essentially identical to GRIN's shengyi sx2 standard wind on my Edgerunner rear wheel. It has good torque, but I have trouble getting above ~17mph even on a downhill. I installed it on that wheel (previously on a 700c) before I really understood the differences in windings on hub motors. So the bike doesn't get ridden unless I'm hauling a lot.

@enobacon Nice! Yeah I ran a few models in that tool and saw the profile is VERY different than mine, particularly at higher voltages. I'm planning on selling my truck this month and using some of the cash to make some ebike upgrades. I'd originally considered buying a new ebike, but I couldn't find any that offered regen.
