@neurothing@dgar Have you ever actually tasted mead? A reliably idiosyncratic friend of mine once bought a bottle to a party and it inevitably got drunk once most of the other booze had run out.
The experience is infamous in our circle and remains the reason "never to let Ingrid bring a bottle to a party" 😂
Have an excellent Sunday yourself 🥰
@fkamiah17@neurothing
I have not, though I rarely drink alcohol, so that’s unsurprising.
I did once sit on a lounge-room floor, cross legged with a friend and we finished a bottle of Frangelico between us. The smell makes me ill to this day! 😂

You make your money by making your workers healthy and unafraid to go get treatment before problems turn life threatening, and even if they arne't your workers since htey have money not eaten up by health costs they will buy your product.
I tolerated two years of the for-profit management, after my not-for-profit hospital was sold to them. I had worked there over a quarter of a century, and watching them shred and destroy all our pro-community efforts over those two years was intolerable.
They kept saying, "shareholder value", as though that had anything at all to do with the healthcare mission.
@dgar OMG. I worked for years for a nonprofit fair trade store and had this EXACT convo w/my uncle. He was a great guy but a businessman & capitalist thru & thru. I was telling him about my work & he was convinced that someone was making money on it. I could NOT talk him out of it.
If you light the fuse, the fuel in the bottle is already on fire when you throw this molotov cocktail -- you risk putting yourself on fire!
Instead, the bottle should be corked and the fuse should be bound around the bottle neck. That way you can safely light the fuse and throw the bottle -- only when the bottle shatters will the fuel inside come into contact with the lit fuse and ignite -- so the effect only occurs upon impact!

At first, I thought maybe the potato can make something of this planet. How bad could it be? Let the potato reach its potential.
But then I remembered. There’s a potato in the Australian parliament right now….
Kill it! Kill it with fire!!
@Heliograph@dgar That's it! same in Germany. It's not about working until you're 70, it's about not receiving retirement pension before you're 70. BTW: Why is there no retiring age for stock owners and politicians if they are doing such "demanding" work?
