@ai6yr @mjausson last weekend the NYT did a great survey to ‘place your accent’ via the terms and pronunciation of words for british/irish. Was shocked at how well it did - as I’m older and been away a while so have picked up few other oddities. What was also great was it showed the variance across the uk for each question. These were my answers.
Fun for non UK folk too because you’ll see the british spoken diversity as mostly multiple choice questions.

@ai6yr reading it, it's sounds like it wasn't even a heist - someone just pulled up with a truck and a fake document and loaded the crates "adorned with the words BANKNOTES and GOLDBARS" on to a truck. 🤦‍♂️

@ai6yr yeah, I've been suspicious of the image quality based on the lens in phone cameras for a while. So it makes total sense that they would add some kind of 'AI auto enhance' feature that basically fakes the image based on the crappy pic. Might have to move back to film only ;)

Ah, nothing like the "angry mom" driver in the fancy SUV cutting in front of traffic with the little kid in the front seat (without a car seat). I guess some folks aren't cut out for parenting. 😢

@ai6yr @andybrwn we’ve had them in uk for decades, i feel they do offer some deterrent there as speeding is also linked to points on the license so not just a hit on wallets. It’s always shocked me that there aren’t any here (especially for the revenue) but i guess they got lobbied away

@ai6yr what’s so hilarious about all these debates is it’s on the expectation that AI company/owner a) sets an ethical and safe policy or standard, and b) sticks to it. Good luck with that. And that doesn’t account for orgs/individuals who don’t care and do what ever they want.

Looks like the cormorants have formed a council on the high rock, the pelicans are staying clear, they know this will not end well.
