It appears that YouTube now loads videos slower on Firefox.

Google has pretty much confirmed that this is intentional and says it is meant to deter users of adblockers.

If you want to fix this, you can either spoof your user agent or add a custom rule to uBlock Origin.

Okay. It seems YouTube loading videos 5 seconds slower isn't specific to Firefox, but is really just related to adblockers. (This was confirmed by Mozilla as well.)

This issue also didn't affect everyone. Apparently, it may have been a form of A/B testing and the people who are affected are in the test group.

The issue was initially reported as targeting Firefox users, but users online have said they're seeing the delay in Chrome and Edge, too. Reddit and Hacker News users who've examined the code that appears to be causing the delay have said they see no indication that YouTube checks what kind of browser is in use. Mozilla's senior brand manager Damiano DeMonte wrote in an email to The Verge that “there’s no evidence that this is a Firefox-specific issue.” Source: The Verge

@lutris Is there a way to manage Gamescope using an installer script for Lutris?

I checked both "installer.schema.yml" and "installers.rst", but didn't find anything specific to Gamescope.

Also, how can I submit installers to the Lutris website?

@lutris By the way, running a game with Gamescope and the Lutris Runtime enabled seems to make the game crash.

@lutris If I remember right, isn't the Lutris Runtime based on the Steam Runtime? Why is it so outdated? 🤔

I am asking this purely out of curiosity and a lack of knowledge regarding the Runtime.

@lutris I see. It would be great if the Lutris Runtime adopts a similar approach as well then.

Anyway, I was wondering if Lutris supports downloading DLCs from GOG alongside the base game in the same script. "requires" and "extends" seem tailored for separate installations.

I am not sure if this can be done, but is it possible to have a menu for picking DLCs — like with "Extras"? I looked at "input_menu" but it's a drop-down menu.

If not, would it be possible to have a simple "Yes/No" prompt?

I finally know how to install Distrobox on Fedora Silverblue.

Just pass "--prefix /path/to/folder" as an argument to the install script. As always, make sure the folder used is in your $PATH.

It's quite baffling how many tutorials and articles just recommend giving third-party install scripts root privileges.
