I think it might depend a lot on where you study. I did study English lit (as a foreign language in Zurich) and I had a blast...
I don't know how different the field is outside of the native English speaking areas, though.

I'd probably try to elaborate instead of trying to find the one specific word. Something like this:

Did you ever wonder how coincidences happen in stories? It takes more than a stroke of a pen or keys on a keyboard, you know. Reality agents have to enter a story in the making, and make it happen. After all, if rocks are supposed to fall and kill everyone, someone has to throw those rocks, right?

Unless the narrator is omniscient, of course they're going to be unreliable. A personal view is always a very biased one. (Making the omniscient narrator a lying scumbag is fun, though 😇)

I asked my marketing team to make a plan for next week. When no satisfactory plan could be found due to a fortune cookie was consulted. “Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.”

At this point, I'm afraid that the specialist will come to the conclusion that it's not autism, that I'm just crazy and that there is nothing I can do about it. (It doesn't seem likely so far, but that never stopped my brain from clinging to the worst case scenario.) Still another appointment to go.

I hear you. I grew up in a very rural area in Central Switzerland. Psychology was a curse word, and people who needed it were psychos. There was never a chance for a diagnosis or treatment.
And my dad would hate this right now, but since he's passed, that's one argument I won't have to have.
