I once worked with goats. I moved into tech.This was a mistake. Expect sheep, wool, and textile history. Also birbs. Infosec on occasion. I use content warnings for topics and images that can trigger PTSD. I do not use them to shield people without trauma from experiencing racism, sexism, transphobia, and other forms of discrimination. If you can ignore politics, you’re not likely in need of content warnings for much of anything, really.

No dehumanizing language for anyone.
No matter how bad things get, human rights are universal.
That is the whole point.

But what about…? No. Freedom for every person is the path to peace. No matter which “side” you are on. Security based on war crimes is no security at all.

If you interpret “I want freedom” as “death to you”,
that is on you.

All people in occupied territories must have their human rights restored. That is the opposite of a call for fascism.

There are useful projects run by people who are overpaid moral voids, but as long as there are enough contributors who can look at the actual features of the tech and spot harmful code, the software will remain useful.

Use your voice to demand contributor codes of conduct and equitable distribution of any funds used to pay contributors.

Demand accessibility.

Throw out Nazis.

Toss the creeps, the racists, the people who take credit for someone else’s work, and

NO GODDAMNED ROCKSTARS.

Again for people (racists), complaining about falling birth rates:

The birth rate for women over 40 is not falling. The birth rate for women over 30 is not falling.

What's happening, is girls 15 to 17 are having fewer babies. Kids are having fewer kids.

Also, this is an interesting way of saying that "Teen pregnancy is down, due to sex education and contraception."

In 1991 25% of 15 year olds gave birth before they turned 21. That's bad. Now it's 6%. That's better.

If you're criticising VR as anti-social after 4 years of a pandemic that has further isolated disabled people, take a seat.

Take several seats if you don't wear masks to tech events.

You don't have to like VR, or how Apple and Meta are building it. But saying there's no legitimate use for VR at all? That it doesn't enable people to be social? Come the hell on dude.

Most BLM protesters were white people advocating for Black civil rights.♥️ All their lives, they thought that they had the 1st amendment right to protest, because they had seen white supremacists march without being beaten by cops. They didn't realize that the right to free speech depends heavily on what you are speaking about, and who you are speaking for.

Now I'm seeing college professors and students learn the same lesson about what US cops will do to you if you speak up for the wrong thing.
