Golden Hour
Chaco Culture National Historic Park, NM

Yes, you owe it to yourselves to visit this beautiful desert canyon filled with more amazing sights than you would have thought before you visited. It's far enough off the beaten path that you can enjoy a #SilentSunday surrounded by the remains of a vast culture. I took this photo on my way to the campground after a wonderful day exploring the canyon.

Our nearest star about thirty minutes ago. That large sunspot region, 3615, right of center, is unusually large. That tiny spot to the left of 3615 is designated as 3617. It is how big the Earth would appear if it were on the surface of the Sun (which thankfully it isn't!) Sadly, I do not think I will make it to see the total eclipse. I will be in the Four Corners region. I may make a dash to see it, however.

@elaterite I've decided not to try for this eclipse. From what I've read traffic and congestion will be horrific all along the path.

Besides I had a wonderful viewing in 2017 in middle of nowhere Wyoming (and even there the traffic was backed up for hours.)

I'll post some of my photos next week.

I did jinx it. Had an SVT incident at 01:00 as I was attempting to fall asleep. A MVM reduced rate from 123 to 80 but heartbeat felt erratic afterwards. Flutter and missing beats. Apple Watch ECG reported Atrial Fibrillation. Which has never happened before over the 2+ years I’ve been getting SVT attacks. ECG just now also reporting atrial fibrillation.

I’m having a chill-out day.

    It's very annoying when the raspberry pi running an ADSB receiver at a remote location goes down. I've got no way to power cycle it from afar and no one who knows how to power cycle it will have access to the location for a few months. Ugh.

    @douglasvb next time you are there install a watchdog timer. Used them every time on the real time control circuits I designed back in the day.

    @douglasvb don’t know much of anything about the pi. We would add a circuit on the board that would yank on the processor’s reset input if it stopped getting pulses from an output. Don’t know if you have access to that. Surely someone has solved this on a pi and hopefully posted their solution.
