ever since i met @codemonkeymike and @chiefgyk3d i have been slowly inching towards Linux and Android...and the scary thing is, as of today, i'm FULLY on Android now. so... does that mean Linux is next? 👀

Was playing with my newly upgraded chat gpt and making coloring pages for my kids.

Apparently a basic scene you'd see in a Disney movie is too hardcore for .

I understand having some limits, but this seems too far. "Lame" as my kids say (and I agree)

@raptor85 @dhry @EpiphanicSynchronicity yeah. I mean avoiding Nvidia certainly makes things easier. But if you already have the hardware, use it. That's what Linux is, and should be

@dhry @raptor85 @EpiphanicSynchronicity there is some legitimately there. Intel and AMD graphics are build into the kernel. So it "just works". It's nice. But Nvidia has been a pill about open sourcing the driver, which means it can't be baked into the kernel.

Distros like @pop_os_official have gone so far as to have a special Nvidia version of the os that has the driver built in.

So I understand avoiding Nvidia if you can. But it totally works if you install the driver. Just a pain.

looks way too ambitious to be taken seriously. I might be absolutely wrong tho. Also why does the creator keeps calling it "Perfect web framework" ? There is no such thing as "perfect" and you shouldn't resort to such "marketing" gimmick when you called out for misleading marketing (still hate tailwind anyway)

hasn't seen much coverage lately, is it just me or does it seem like is moving at a slow pace after the failure that was the ?

There are some highlighted issues from scouring around the mobile stuff, and that is battery life due to not enough optimization and performance that would have been classed as mid 8 years Ago, the former is a software issue while the latter is purely hardware and not one that can easily be fixed.

Thoughts?

@Dimension yeah it has seemed like a rough go. We're not getting good hardware, and software seems to be lagging too.

But also with arm Linux all together

@linmob True.. fairphone 5 and librem sound fantastic. I think i was more talking about the lack of ARM laptops. But yeah.. Either way, I welcome a mobile linux future.

You even see the new plasma 6 put work into mobile too. So it's clearly not dead

@linmob yup the x13 is the only one I know about. And even then, seemed to hear nothing about it since it came out, or what it's compatible with.

Other than that, we have what? The pinebook? That's an ok proof of concept, but not much more.

Plus the whole bios / boot situation on arm seems messy still. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited and hopeful. Just thought wed be further along by now.

Just finished up an in depth security audit with @valorin !

Huge recommend to anyone looking for a security audit / pen testing. He found lots of places for improvement, and took the time to educate me AS he was finding the issues, not just dropping a report.

When I first got into had all the hype. I installed it onto a spare SSD on my main machine (running Sid). I was waiting to be wowed…

Well it seemed pretty neat, but it has not held my attention or interest since I installed it. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I feel very whelmed. Like I don’t hate it, but I guess I was expecting more 🤷🏽‍♂️

Eitherway the ssd is back to being just storage.
