Oversight spotted in Windows 11 LTSC 2024:
There's no Windows Security app, Windows Defender Antivirus itself is present but you can't manage the settings for it due to the lack of the Windows Security app. 🫠
Diary of an ASD Squirrel. Day 205 , Monday 20/05/2024
Was up till the early hours of this morning with stomach cramps after last nights daring attempt to eat scrambled eggs & beans for tea.
Spent the day getting lots of exercise up & down the stairs to take a pew, if you get my drift.
Attempted to interact on here a couple of times but my brain is apparently on sick leave so it didn’t go exactly to plan 🙄🤦♂️
Hopefully tomorrow will be better !
Final Thoughts.
Is the babel fish truly a fish if it spends most of its life out of water ?
This & other great questions of our age will have to wait until I can think straight!
Thank you to all those who are helping me on this journey, in a myriad different ways. I am thankful to each & every one of you! 🫂 🫶🐿️🖖
Fediverse, promise me something.
When you see any post that has life/lives on a line, don't just scroll by and fav. Help boost those posts, help such posts reach a wider audience. If you're on multiple platforms, also help to spread the word there as much as you can, until any help is finally found.
Time is vital, lives could have been saved, tragedies could be prevented. And nothing is inevitable, they're "inevitable" because they're left so.
I just got an advert from a private health corporation that explicitly says “the NHS has come under significant strain. Factors like a […] lack of funding […] has resulted in longer waiting times, lack of choice and limited treatments. With private treatment you’ll benefit from reduced waiting times and more time to talk to your doctor”.
I am being advertised, essentially the ability to “pay-to-win” the health system, something that was previously the reserve of the affluent.
There is something really dystopian about how private healthcare has gone from “get a fancier hospital room” to “actually see a doctor”, and thus something that normal people genuinely need.
The privatisation of the healthcare system is not going to come from the Government selling off the health service — it will come from making it so chronically feeble that you have no choice to take private care.
Telegram is notoriously insecure and routinely cooperates with govs behind the scenes while talking a big game about speech and privacy. Even their limited opt-in (roll their own) encryption is sus. The more you know 🌈
Quick test post. Just want to see if this gets sent to the new Bluesky bridge. If you're seeing this on Bluesky, hello and welcome to my corner of the fediverse. If you're seeing this elsewhere, enjoy a cute pony all the same. :happyderpy:
Yesterday a student demonstrated to me their C++ program that converts a list of numbers to their binary form.
I put something like "7 80 271 09716 " trying to crash their program and give a lesson to sanitize user input. Instead, it crashed their Windows and they left with a BSOD.
Dunno if some dipshit will call me posting this FUD again, a mere week after the last time I said it. But once again: if you build your business on top of anything offered by Google in virtually any way, you are in "fool me seventeen times" territory here. No company has indicated its disdain for the developer ecosystem to the degree Google systematically does.
Everything that doesn't pull the revenue of Ads is eventually killed, and nothing pulls the revenue of Ads.
