@hanse_mina Count me wrong if I’m wrong, but the admiration of violence and brutality seems to me a feature of the ”Ruski mir” through and throughout.

Living next door to them, and interacting with them has shown me the same. Friendly Russians are a plenty, but something dark underneath there lies. Even those who want to have nothing to do with it, have had their hearts coldened to just accept it.

It was a nice try for them in 90’s-20’s to adopt to rule of law and anti-corruption. But they failed and went back to the old ways.

Maybe they’ll try again in 20 years, hopefully not later. Because what will happen is their economy will collapse when they have nothing left to steal. Again.

    i had completely forgotten how utterly alien Hannu Rajaniemi's "Jean le Flambeur" novels are...

    i read the first an age ago (pre-2018 anyway) and only picked up the second, "The Fractal Prince" this week.

    loving it, kind of? there's so much which just defies understanding, so i'm sort of letting the words wash over me and feeling the story rather than trying to immediately comprehend it. is kind of like James Kellerman's "How Late It Was..." or Bascule's elements in "Feersum Endjinn"

    This right there is a CD that I burned on "civil" burner 20 years ago, before Spotify and Youtube was trendy and when storing your music on MP3 CDs made perfect sense (to conserve disk space obviously). It's still perfectly readable today! That tech is more reliable than people think.

    Suunnittelu ja implementaatio kytkeytyy toisistaan irti.

    Syntyy firmoja jotka on eksperttejä navigoimaan valtionhankintojen sääntöviidakkoja ja tyydyttämään tarkastuksia ja valvontaa.

    Poistuu kytkös kokonaan sen väliltä mitä lähdettiin toteuttamaan ja sen mitä saatiin.

    Lopputuloksesta voi aina syyttää valtiota koska se on tilaaja

    @outi @karbaasi @mikaelhoo Jos katsotaan niitä esimerkkejä ”ketteristä” firmoista niin siellä nimenomaan käytännön osaaminen, suunnittelu ja projektinhallinta istuvat samassa pöydässä.

    Ja ei oo mitenkään poissuljettua että valtion tasolla ei vois toimia samoin. Vaatisi vain ihan toisenlaista kannustin- ja tulosvastuuta siellä virkamieskoneistossa.

    Miten hemmetissä ne voi muka suunnitella mitään kestävää tulevaisuutta kun budjetti riippuu siitä kuka onnistuu sosiaalisen median kampanjoinnissaan 4 vuoden välein?

    Jotenki maagisesti vaan se raha minkä kunnat verotti enne pitäis nyt ilmestyä jostain… 🤦‍♂️

    Maybe, but I don't like this argument, unless care is taken to carefully emphasize the following:

    People with disabilities are deserving of full access to full participation in society just because it's the goddamn right thing to do, not because some abled person might suddenly join them.

    @WTL @rolle As long as fediverse remains curated by humans, it should by definition remain less unpredictable than algorithmically curated networks.

    That doesn’t mean it won’t be a mess if the whole world decides to join, it will just be considerably less of a mess.

    But the speed of the network’s actions won’t take it’s owners as much by surprise as the ones boosting stuff automatically.
