The thing about the alternatives, none of these companies, Asus, ROG, or Lenovo, have any incentive to continue support on released devices.

They aren't building a platform like , they are simply selling some hardware.

I appreciate the competition, but in my opinion, the steam deck experience will beat the others out any day.

@weston I'm guessing you aren't spending much time doing the proton dance then. Loved my Steam Deck, but almost nothing played well on it without massive amounts of tweaking... and I'm fine with doing that but it resulted in me tweaking far more than just playing.

So apparently there's some api called fedicrawl that some instances out there are using to catalog and tag instances they don't like, I suppose in retaliation to the use of the fediblock tag. Someone out there realllly does not like me, lol.

Here's a list of the things they tagged me as and the link they used as the receipt, which is me reporting a spam bot?!

I post about games, game development, arcade stuff... so this is hilarious to me.

    @darth Sooooo, they would introduce hardware that would need to be R&D'd, tested, manufactured and then they would be paying extra money for the manufacturing of each game and... What's the point, when they literally have the #1 online game distribution platform right now? Why burn money for something people want less and less? Nostalgia? I don't really get it.

    @dmk @BoofTroupe When you get past about 10k games in the library, the Steam Deck starts having very random problems and instability. Had to factory reset but after that, I never readded all the roms to Steam and we were all good. Basically, all the added games was busting some memory limits.

    Hello, I still struggle to looking for answers with my loading issues on Baldur's Gate 3. I have an enclosure adapter called Viagkiki Aluminum (https://tinyurl.com/mr2zshvx)
    and I also bought a 2TB SN850x m.2 to installed with it, and I tried to play it for better speed but the loading is still same and tension from 30secs to 1mins long and my CPU is running at under 50%. I just don't know why this powerful SN850, which is running at 7300mbs, is still under at 170-200 for downloaded the game?

    @seso34 Sounds about right to me. It's just a game that takes a while to load, even on SSD. Same on mine.

    Well, it seems it was my turn to be fired.

    From now on I will be looking for a #remote work in Europe (I live in Hamburg, Germany)

    My recent XP is with Unity/C#. But I have done C, old school C++, and now I am learning #godot.

    I have worked as dev, lead, engineer manager, game director and CTO.

    I used to do some engine programming but my forte is gameplay.

    At the moment, I am looking mainly for a programming position. I want to get my hands as dirty as possible again.

    I wish Mastodon would release on a consistent schedule ( with the exception of security updates of course)
