Somebody got to run in the dog park a lot today. Then The Mommy took him to the dog bath store and cleaned him up real good. He smells like a new car now. Then she brought him home to sack out. #dog#Mondog#BusterP#dogsOfMastodon
@jhv@noplasticshower@Dr_Bombay@shovemedia@SazeracLA@rossgrady@culturednyc It’s a pretty simple drink. Just find a rum you like, then there’s lemon juice and… the syrup. I use a 1:1 mix of passionfruit puree and rich simple syrup, but apparently it’s meant to be “fassionola” which is similar but not quite the same. Start with https://bgreynolds.com/products/red-fassionolabur there are recipes to make your own floating about; search r/cocktails or r/tiki on Reddit.
What I was really doing earlier was wondering about replacing a hammer I used to have in my kitchen. I now have a, um, "correct" tool, but there was something satisfying about using an actual hammer to, say, flatten cutlets. I was looking at weights of these:
@ai6yr@jhv I don't understand this complaint.
Sure, volume != mass. The circled lines in Joe's first post illustrate the absurdity.
But, when cooking & esp'ly baking, it's very convenient to have guidelines for converting an old-style by-volume recipe to one where you weigh ingredients.
So, yeah, explaining that volume != mass would be correct in the best sense of "technically correct" and as usual, would not be useful. So, seems like copilot did the right thing here.
I know a lot of my LGBTQ+ friends aren't going to be enamored about any sort of USN ship, no matter what the name is, but having a Navy support ship named after Harvey Milk seems like a story from a different timeline. Having it visit San Francisco Bay makes the story even better.
No movie quiz today: heat went out at my house. Have it back up to 60 inside, but the central heat won't be looked at until midday tomorrow. I'll try to get last week's answer out later.
