Is there any XMPP<->Telephony Network transport other than JMP/Soprani.ca that allows me to make calls with Conversations (or any other modern Jingle client)

Soprani.ca seems like a pretty convoluted stack to set up if one wanted to self host.

TBH I don’t even know enough about the problem space to formulate what I’m looking for.
I think I already have a SIP account (comes with my internet at home / but never used it) so I guess I’m just looking for a 'modern Jingle'<->SIP gateway?

How do I download an APK from Google Play store on Android without logging into a Google account?

@liaizon you can't. But there used to be workarounds like the Aurora store app or exporting the .apk from another phone. Not sure if that still works though.

Disappointed, but not surprised, by the utter lack of interest in over at .

XF 2.2 was released in Sep 2020. XF 2.3 will drop sometime this year, however, IMHO, none of the new features were worth waiting 3+ years (a lifetime ago) for.

In the meantime, like are testing a plugin, 2.0 will support , and plans to join the too. I'm sure there are more.

I really want to migrate to another platform.

    @valkyrie I currently get a 504 nginx error. But it would be nice to have a simple landing page to link to that doesn't funnel users to the centralised matrix.org infrastructure like matrix.to does.

    Debating moving my book lists again. I'm currently on a random @bookwyrm instance, and I like it okay but like all of them I've tried it's rather slow. Does anyone have a good one that doesn't just drag loading every page? Or is there something else? OpenLibrary seems okay, though I don't like its centralization (but it's run by an organization that I like and trust, so maybe that's fine). Either way I don't like the lack of cooperative governance, but I know I likely won't find that. Recs?

    SLRPNK is back for now on the old server. Looks like I need to revise that SATA controller setup again as it corrupted the main boot SSD. Luckily caught it early and locked the filesystem, so I still had remote access and was able to migrate everything somewhat gracefully.

    I think attempts to bridge this gap, but uses different client sources for different platforms, so it lacks unity between clients.

    Does anybody have some insider news as to whether or not something like this is in the works? Perhaps a shiny new client?
