@richard_merren @TonyStark is your question based on the premise that you either use riot police to indiscriminately target peaceful protestors and bad actors alike or doing nothing? I'm really confused what you are asking.

You can make sure that bad actors are removed and allow peaceful protestors to continue protesting. The article is about what should happen, and criticizing what is happening. Poor decisions are what led to the article being written.

@ainmosni @jsrailton that's well said. I think also it allows the well connected and resourced to use those mistakes as a get out of jail free card by hiring lawyers and firms with the time and staffing to go through all those documents for errors that might help their client. An overburdened public defender would likely not.

@paezha @BlogWood those are at least real and very present. My point was that communism is not really a modern day threat and since he's in Florida is clearly just pandering to people rooted in the cold war. Complete waste of resources from a perspective of real education, but i guess he's pandering to his base hoping that he'll either become president of breakaway Florida, or maybe have a shot after Trump has moved to the big gold toilet in the sky.

@CelloMomOnCars I really hope this precipitates a decline in fossil fuels, I am skeptical though. As shifts away from energy are made there will likely be more demand in agriculture for fertilizers, especially with increased crop pressures due to climate change and fairly constant famines in ever changing parts of the world.

Potentially less profitable though, so hopefully less expansion of extraction.

    @peterdutoit I'm not trying to be snarky, just actually curious. It's it realistic to think that 1.5C won't be permanent for 6 years with accelerating trends and reliance on la nina to pull us below?

    There seem to be so many unaccounted for potential tipping points, but I am, admittedly, just an ignorant normie without a full science background to digest all this.
