ADDED: Merchan says that Trump’s motion is denied as untimely.

I have this theory that most journalists, pundits and authors are only going to take the fediverse seriously when they have no choice. And I think that day is not very far off, given one specific catalytic development. I won’t put it out there yet, so as to not make it too controversial before it exists, but I’m confident that I’m right. Stay tuned.

Our industries are saturated with executives who make hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars a year, but these people are not doing hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars worth of work.

Elon Musk canceled Don Lemon's deal with X after he said Lemon's show was “too like CNN” when “CNN is dying.” This comes after Lemon interviewed Musk, which he apparently didn't like. The Don Lemon Show will now be published on YouTube. Full statement from Lemon here:

The “TNC” will probably allocate some funds to down-ballot Republicans…after they give Trump loyalty pledges and promise to support his fascism.

I’ve heard the argument made with the Palestinians deserve to reclaim their Homeland with an argument that sounded roughly like “because possession is 9/10ths of the law.” But by that standard, it’s been Israeli land since 1948. I don’t mean to sound glib about this. I really am interested in the moral calculuses some use to defend or condemn one position or the other. Sincere replies are welcome. Speeches and agitprop are not.

@shoq I’m all for the two-state solution. I just don’t know how we get it. And people way smarter than me, who have studied this conflict for a long time, worry it may never happen.

At least some people may be able to use the humanitarian corridors to escape the violence. That’s something.

I hope folks understand how big this DOJ 60 day window not applying to Trump is.

That means that DOJ is willing to try these cases into September, October, and early November.

It makes the SCOTUS delay much less daunting, and raises the likelihood of pre-election conviction.
