@suswatibasu Occasionally. I read thing recently - what basically turned out to be a romantic drama - but the author (or the editor, because it seemed to be glued on later on) has a weakness for talking about the muscled arms and fitness activity of the male hero. This annoyed me and kept annoying me. But the rest of the story was fine, so I pressed on.

@popey An answer could be 'default Gnome', because everything else besides what you are currently doing is a secret...
I mean, I like that. But when I started using Gnome 3, I find it annoying not to see what else was running.

Someone in the IT department of my bank (Komerční banka) is acting smarter than they should be.
When I tried to log in to the Internet banking, I got a message saying that "OS Linux is no longer secure" and recommending that I use an up-to-date OS, e.g. Windows 11.

I thought we were past these times. 🤦

So apparently, before a holiday, someone forgot to lock all the doors at a Library in Goteborg, Sweden.

So over that time several hundred people wandered in, read books as usual until finally a librarian was notified and came in and closed things up.

So it was basically just a normal day in the Library, just with no staff. 😂

@Wraithe I am not sure we still do that, but the smaller libraries in Copenhagen would open from, say, 8 AM to 10 PM, but only be manned from like 10 to 6 PM.
Outside of the staffed hours, people would be able to open the doors with their library card (which is their healthcare/social security card).

Seen some distinctly odd toots appearing from accounts in the western US (since roughly start of waking hours in California) saying "battery-electric vehicles are a dead end, the future is [OH LOOK A WOOKIE]". Not people I've ever engaged with previously.

I suspect the petrochemical industry astroturf bot farms have finally reached Mastodon ...

@RojCowles @scott @cstross Europe is well-equipped with infrastructure, and that makes all the difference.
It is quite unproblematic going from Copenhagen to Paris and hitting a charger on the way where you take lunch or dinner.
I would imagine making any sort of framework across the US would be a real challenge. The individual states often seem more like very different countries than Europe does.

Hmmm.
Det bliver aldrig et parti til mig, men:
Man kunne måske argumentere for, at hvis hovedparten af racistfløjen er gået med Støjberg, og hovedparten af dem, der ser Lars Løkke som svar på noget som helst, er gået til Moderaterne, så efterlader han Venstre mindre, men bedre.
