My PRS baby just came out of a successful little surgery with locking tuners and strap locks, and a fresh set of 10-gauge strings. I'm not sure why PRS pushes 9-gauge, but I definitely prefer the 10-gauge on it!

@vwbusguy Love headstocks on which the strings go straight up into the tuners without bending left or right. 👍 And locking tuners are awesome, wish they existed for classical guitars.

Die Top 5: Hong Kong 265,17 Mbit/s Singapur 259,11 Mbit/s Chile 246,39 Mbit/s Ver. Arab. Emirate 231,39 Mbit/s Thailand 219,1 Mbit/s
Und Deutschland? Wir hängen in aktuellen Erhebungen mit 87,03 Mbit/s auf Platz 54, weit hinter Ländern wie Ungarn (155,56), Panama (144,72) und Portugal (143,79). Das liegt vor allem an der Verbreitung von Glasfaseranschlüssen hierzulande.
Aktuell sind nur 9,2% der Anschlüsse Glasfaser – deutlich dominanter sind Breitbandanschlüsse durch DSL oder Kabel-TV-Netze. Aktuell ist fast jeder vierte Breitbandanschluss in Deutschland ein Kabelanschluss.

Finally putting my x230 to rest, the last sudo poweroff. Hardware is failing beyond the point that makes continuing to repair it worthwhile.

On this laptop I deployed nearly 60 servers (most for at risk groups), 12 tech art projects (solo & collab, some toured worldwide), & gave many lectures & workshops.

If there was ever a loyal and electric steed, it was this x230. It ran & was good.

I bought it in 2015, for EUR145 on the German eBay, 2nd hand.

Die dazu verwendeten Techniken gelten z. T. als KI, aber niemand hat einen Bot mit John Lennons Stimme singen lassen oder so. Die Aufregung ist unangebracht und das Hashtag „Deepfake“ erst recht.

We’re on the look for a new family car and I’ve been pleasantly impressed with the BMW X5/X6. 2023 models have nice climate controls: physical switches and a little screen showing mode, degrees, etc

Unicode is older now than ASCII was when Unicode was introduced. It’s not a weird new fad.

It’s complicated but so is the domain it represents. We recognize that we have to think about time zones and leap days and seconds, for instance. And it’s a cleaner abstraction when you aren’t halfhearted about it.
